NY trades Curry, Crawford, Richardson, Francis, & the rights to Bulls pick
Minny trades Garnett, Hudson, Jaric & there draft pick top 3 protected.

NY
Frye/James/Cato
Lee/Jefferies
Garnett/Balkman
Jaric/Marbury/Nate
Marbury/Hudson/Collins

Minny
Curry/Blount
Griffin/Madison
Davis/Hassell
Richardson/Crawford
James/Foyle(Francis)

New York gets Garnett(31yrs old), and by taking Minny's pick which would turn into a lottery pick since that team would probably miss the playoffs. The lottery pick would absorb some of the blow to losing Curry at 23-24yrs old. But with Garnett we take over our division this season.

Minny gets 23-24yr old Curry who could be a top 3 center in 2yrs at the age to 26. Face it they aren't going anywhere in the next 5yrs of Garnetts career. Nobody else is going to give them a young player like Curry. And they have to many long contracts to completely rebuild the whole roster. They upgrade over Hudson & Jaric with Q & Crawford who all have basically the same length of contracts. Garnetts contract is so big I had to include Francis in the deal. Francis can shut it down this season. Then they could move James & Davis in the offeseason to upgrade there frontcourt along side of Curry. Them add Francis in the rotation the following yr.

if you take MIN's pick out of it i think MIN might do it

but if you think Curry can be a top 3 C in the East in 2 years, why get rid of him?

I don't know if as the Knicks I would do the deal without switching there pick for the Bulls.

Id do the trade involiving Curry banking on Garnett winning us the division this yr. And Minny getting us a mid to late lottery pick. Of course neither one is a gurantee.

If it worked out we get Garnett win the division, get a top 3 seed. And still land a lottery pick around 8-11.

Minny will then have there Center for the future in Curry and PG for the future in Foyle.

Then again I just read that the NBA is about to stop players from flopping. Which now makes Curry even more valuable.

How can you trade something thats not yours? Meaning the Bulls pick.

he's talking about the pick that will become ours after the SWAP rights are exercised... NY's pick will go to the Bulls & the Bulls pick will be ours.

that would be awesome if MIN would do it, but i don't think they would include the pick... they're giving up KG afterall... he's 1 of the game's top 6-8 players & he's still got a few elite level years left in him.

even then, i would have to think about it though... as long as we were keeping D Lee, i think adding KG would give us a legitimate shot to make the Finals... that would return this franchise to legitimate contender status instantaneously & you could finally answer all the questions on whether or not Marbury & KG could get it done together... it would be interesting to witness it all go down.

i'd MUCH rather trade Marbury to MIN in reverse though... take a couple of their bad contracts in return for their pick & they can reunite Marbs & KG in MIN... u think they'd do that?

why would minn do this and get a worst draft pick. WAKE UP . there is NO way minn does this. why do we want a 31 yr old player? we are not winning anything with him . does this even work under the salary cap?
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I know the deal is not going to happen so im not going to spend to much time playing with the Idea.

Garnett is turning 31yrs old. I would say they have 5yrs left. Minny in there current situation unless they get LUCKY or strike absolute gold with a draft pick aren't going anywhere with Garnett for the next 5yrs other than being mediocre and losing in the first rd of the playoffs. By the time the there cap situation turns good Garnett will have little yrs left. With Curry we are offering them someone that I don't think any other team would be willing to offer. Plus they upgrade 2 of there dead weight players who have bad contracts. Curry at 24 buys them a lot of time. That they can focus on building around with Foyle for the next 4yrs and still be in his prime when they final fix there situation to enjoy the benifits.

Trading Marbury for bad contracts and there draft pick would be overpaying for a draft pick. I mean with Marbury minny would be a good team giving us a weak draft pick. And we would still be eating ugly contracts. If it was ending salary and 2 later draft picks than that would be a solid deal.

how about Marbury, Jefferies, Frye & Nate for MC Ricky D, Mike James, Trenton Hassell, Eddie Griffin, Marko Jaric & MIN's 1st rounder?

C - Curry / Cato
PF - Griffin / D Lee / Malik
SF - Ricky D / Balkman / Hassell
SG - Q Rich / Jaric
PG - Jamal / MJ

IA - Francis / Turd
NBDL - Collins

that gets us a shotblocker, defender in Griffin... a perimeter defender in Hassell... a couple perimeter shooters in Jaric & James, & a 1st round pick for Isiah to play with... & Ricky D would add some excitement imo.

MIN would get Marbury to reunite w/KG to make a Final push... & a young bigman to mold for the future at the same time... Nate can be the wildcard for them to take the place of the lost draft pick, & Jefferies can be a decent role player off the bench.

i think a shakeup might benefit both teams.

It don't look to bad. But we would have A LOT of long contracts.

Jaric 10/11
Crawford 10/11
Richardson 09/10
Hassell 09/10
James 09/10

If we could move Crawford for an upgrade up front and to balance the backcourt or a lesse talent with a shorter contract. Either let Davis walk or move him for a lesser talent with a short contract and a draft pick. It wouldn't be to bad.

if we had jalen, we trade jalen + frye + lee + nate for kg. heck, even throw in a pick b/c marbury + kg + curry is enough in the east to contend.

The same people who complain Isiah isn't rebuilding would instantly give up all our young players for an over the hill KG?

Yeah, no thanks.

I don't know why everyone is insistent on trading away Curry. You know how many teams would kill to have a center than can draw the attention that Curry does. We just need to teach him how to play better defense, pass out of the double team effectively and surround him with shooters. To me, our biggest problem is consistent production from the SG and SF positions. We need solid two-way players at both positions and other than Q we don't have that. That is where my focus would be as far as trades. Frye easily could get us a solid SG. I think Balkman is our SF of the future if he develops a jump shot. With him and Lee on the court, we will lead the league in rebounds for the next 7-8 years. Plus, Balkman has the potential to be a true shutdown defender (to the extent there is such a thing).

"Just trade for Garnett."

Yep, let's just do it. This guy is so easy to get. He can be had for free but because of the salary cap something must be given up. I'd say Malik, Francis, and Jerome. That would work.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
