I know the kid can play much better. He wont rebound, he isnt scoring, he doenst play defense, and he hasnt blocked a shot in 5 games. Do we trade when he still has value, or hope he snaps out of it. It doesnt bother me he misses shots, it does bother me when he wont be physical or rebound.

he relegated to brian cook on offense and he just seems out of it on defense. looks like confidence.

don't understand why he won't put frye in the 2nd unit so he can spell curry and we can go with channing in the post. just make sure you start quentin with lee b/c if jeffries is out there, they will collapse on eddy.

i wonder if the coaches work on player's games during the year or if that's only in preseason.

Comes down to the simple fact, Isiah doesn't see what every intelligent human being sees.

David Lee belongs in the starting lineup, Crawford should handle the ball more and shoot less, Balkman deserves Jefferies minutes, Channing Frye would be more effective without Curry on the floor, allow him to post up and not be strictly a jump shooter, Cato should play over Rose unless he is guarding tim duncan

I think Isiah is set in his ways concerning Frye. He is using Frye as the jumpshooter needed to open up the inside for Curry. Unfortunately Frye's jumpshots generally come from 17 and in so it really doesn't open up the inside.

I think as a result Frye has become passive all the way around. combine that with him having a confidence issue(I believe) and really isn't all that good at this point. He's a 2nd year player and has a ways to go. I think after his rookie year people were expecting 17 and 8 everynight but where is he getting that in this rotation? With Marbs, Craw, Curry demanding the ball he is relegated to staying out of the way and shooting jumpers.

I agree with some of the other posters. Put him as the back-up center and let him get some post play against some of the other back-ups in the league.
I just hope that people will like me

Funny you post that. He played 'better under Brown'. He was forced to play harder, until he hurt his knee. Brown was in his head! The kid isn't hungry enough. He's starting and playing in his second year and plays like he's physically fragile. Zeke needs to think about his troops performances, on an individual basis and look at the details of his players more. This is a very good reason why a guy like Lee should be starting. He's hungry, looking in from the outside and wants a piece of the action. This is were Frye needs to be. He's too comfy right now, knowing he's a starter and thinking about that damn knee too much. In other words 'he doesn't have to work hard for it, so he doesn't have the hunger to go out and just play the game of basketball, and thinks more about getting hurt than he did before the accident'!

I think it's things like that, that need to be looked at more. Make him earn it and stop worrying about that knee getting injured again. Your playing a physical game here, your going to get injured sooner or later anyway, so might as well give it your best and do what you do best. Zeke needs to address this soon. Zeke needs to get into Frye's head. Someone does! We already know what Frye is capable of. It's all in his head right now.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Fryes biggest change from last season to this season is Curry. He is having to many problems adjusting to Currys minutes and focus on the offense. And even though Frye has the body type of guys like Duncan and R Wallace, he appears to have no feel for dribbling which is what makes those guys so good. They dribble like small forwards while frye has the fuildness of a center. And isiah sees this but he feels he can change frye with time and starts. I would just let him score 15 points a game off the bench and trade him for young players and picks.

Frye came from a stable family, stable college program at Arizona, came to the knicks and disfunction is written all over his face.

Let him come off the bench, give him the ball, and he will be fine.

I didn't agree with having him off the bench earlier- but right now- I would put him with the second unit and make him the focal point of the offense. He has shown he can score- outside, inside- its confidence and I think if you told him- you're the man with the second unit- might help him find his game.

Channing should be playing with the second unit because he will be the main scorer and thats the way it should be. Channing is a great shooter and if he's playing with Eddy, Marbury, Q, he's not getting ANY shots and he doesn't do anything else on the court to make himself useful enough in the starting lineup.

I've been saying he should be coming off the bench since before this year started, Channing has proved me right with his play in the starting lineup.

I think if Curry misses any time as a result of his strained calf, I think we'll see more of Frye's hidden potential again. He'll get a lot of the touches that would have gone to Curry and a lot of those scoring opportunities. He won't score in the same way Curry does, but I think/hope his production will be surprisingly similar to last year's.

Frye isn't hungry? He is too comfortable? He is worried abouy his knee? Lee is hungrier? How do you reach those conclusions?

Frye has shown me that he is dedicated to improving his game, he cares about winning, he seems to be a good teammate, and he has rare offensive skills. His problem is that he still does not know what he can and cannot do, he is being put in bad situations on defense, and he still has alot of work to do on his game. I am convinced that Frye would be a solid center in this league. He has the game and movements of a center. He needs to continue to work on his upper body and leg strength, develop a couple of more post moves other than his jump hook, and learn to slow down on his jumper. I noticed that usually when he misses it is because he rushed the shot. When he takes his time, he shoots at a much higher percentage. This kid has alot of potential but he needs to be put in the right situation. I would definitely move him to the bench and have him backup Curry and when he comes in, let him post up on the block. This kid should get at least 6-7 post opportunities a game and then run a few pick and pops with him and Marbury. IT needs to really focus on showing Frye exactly what they want him to do. Moreover, the defensive lineup with Frye at the top of the key has to go. There is no way Frye can move out to the shooters up there. We saw yesterday that when you keep Frye near the basket, he can be a decent defender (obviously he still needs more work). He altered several of Amare's shots. He just has to work on his lateral movement.

This team would be so much better this year is Frye played the way he was projected to play in his sophomore season.
