Getting picky

Let's say the Knicks had kept the No. 7 pick last June and not shipped it off to Denver as part of the Antonio McDyess deal. Then you'd have Amare Stoudemire playing at the Garden today, right?

Not necessarily. If he had kept the pick, team prez Scott Layden was intent on playing it safe and taking Jared Jeffries, the Indiana forward who went to Washington and had his season cut short after 20games because of a major knee injury. He averaged only 4.0points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.6 minutes, numbers that pale compared to Stoudemire's.

>>> knicks (layden) would have picked jared jeffries? over wilcox, butler, amare, nene? this guy has GOT to go... supposedly, he wasn't even the one to pick Milos...

Look who wrote the article. Mitch "The Bitch" Lawrence! Don't ever take what he writes about us too seriously. I'm almost certain Scott Layden would have selected Caron Butler or Chris Wilcox if we kept the pick.
