From the Berman article today....

Malik Rose's bizarre tirade on the bench after being taken out for Jared Jeffries with 24.3 seconds left was another indication he's having trouble accepting his minuscule role. When Quentin Richardson and Nate Robinson returned to the lineup after the West Coast trip, Rose was out of the rotation for good. He did not play in four straight games before being excavated Friday against the Nets, when he played six minutes, and playing eight minutes Saturday.

Rose yelled, "That's bull[bleep]" looking at Thomas as he came off the court, then violently kicked a chair and kept muttering, then yelled another profanity as he looked down the bench. His teammates and coaches looked at him bewildered. During the West Coast trip, Rose told The Post, "I can't say I'm getting screwed. I'm the odd man out. Today's an easier day to talk about it. You caught me on the right day. Some days I get frustrated and angry."

After the game, Rose said he was not directing his wrath at Thomas, but was vague on why he was so upset. Two plays earlier, Rose had been called for traveling.

"I tend to worry about the refs and things I can't control," Rose said after the game. Two weeks ago, Rose said he would not request a trade, but that could change now.

The one thing I do not like about the coaching is that the rotations are not set halfway into the season. Its not as bad as last year, but I don't think its close to being where it needs to be.

Malik is a great guy and I like that despite barely playing he shows that fire.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Andrew, rotations are quite well set in my opinion, guys have been hurt or suspended. This is not even close to what happened last year.

alexs, let me give you one example of my dislike for the rotations. In the month of January, when suspensions and injuries were not a factor Balkmans minutes were:

0, 14, 20, 4, 0, 22, 4, 1, 0

Balkman has always played pretty consistently IMO. There is no reason for him to play 22 minutes in the SAC game (and do a good job) and then not much of a chance the next games.

in the post game press conference after the win in indy, a reporter asked isiah a question that was barely audible. then isiah kind of was surprised, then started shaking his head and then said to the reporter "you gotta check (before you ask something like that)". it seemed to have upset isiah and it was very weird.

i rewound it and listened to it again with the volume on full blast and it was a reporter asking whether isiah spoke to malik. the rest was tough to decipher but it pertained to malik kicking the chair and screaming when he was pulled out. so the reporter probably thought malik was pissed at isiah and was insinuating that in the question. and that ticked off isiah.

How would you feel if you were Malik? Go from playing for a championship team and playing with the best PF in the game, to this joke of a franchise and people who slack and play like crap at the same time plays ahead of him. I'd sure snap at times.

Malik should be getting regular minutes on the bench unless a player gets injured or into foul trouble... that's his role & he needs to know that.

this artical is spun so bad........ Poor Malik, gettnig a bad rap he was NOT yelling at Isiah.

I was watching this all go down.. He was just mad that we were blowing a huge lead and mad at the refs calls. It had nothing to do with him being taken out of the game. This is silly

Not for nothing, Malik is our best post defender. I dont see a problem with him getting some spot minutes off the bench. That "pull the chair" move of his is great.

It's one of many Malik got from Karl Malone's playbook.

Malik is a class individual and unlike many other NBA players he didn't make it to the big-time on skill and athleticism, he made it through hard work and determination and it probably kills him that he can't even get a chance to prove himself on the court right now. I hope everything works out for Malik.

Thw only reason Malik got minutes against Indy is because Frye got into foul trouble early. Malik is not apart of the regular rotation nor should he be. He is not apart of the future. The only time Malik sees minutes is for emergency situations, other than that Malik should sit.

He's basically an assistant coach right now.

You're right for the most part NYK, but I think you are selling Rose a little short on Skill and he was pretty athletic. 6'5" PF's have to have a lot of skill to make it, and I will never forget that crazy jam he had on Mutombo:

That is pretty athletic!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
