I was thinking of this when I was looking at the pacers game. NY could have a few canditates to win the award.

Curry - His emergence as a dominant low post center requiring constant double and triple teams and averaging 19 and 8 plus shooting 60+ % from the Field.

Lee - Mr. Double Double, if IT keeps him on the bench, he might pull in 6man award, but he has certainly improved in all areas, especially FT shooting which Big guys don't usually do.

QRich - Last year he was invicible, this year he is playing crazy defense, getting rebounds, and shooting the lights out with a high percentage from behind the arc.

What do you think ?

Also, I know this is a long shot and many will kill me but I must throw it out there. If the knicks some how finish the the season 41-41 and win the division plus possibly do something in the first round. Does IT not get a consideration for Coach of the year ? Judging from the statistics, if would be incredible to take a 23 win team and get them to .500 plus maybe a playoff birth with a competitive first round appearance.

We really should be 20-22 but looking at the record 18-24 their is no reason that we couldnt even out to .500 before the season ends. As long as steph is healthy, we should be able to do it.

Lee's well on that pace. He's already had a real nice write up in US Today last week. If his minutes increase, his production will also.

Last year, many were saying what a mistake Q was, but I knew he'd rebound and be one of our best players. You don't find too many outside threats like that.

A .500 record would probably mean a playoff spot. Let's hope so! This team could really use that experience.

I'd vote for D-Lee like hell, he deserves it, but unfortunately the honors will go to Kevin Martin.

and the knicks actually do something record wise and make the playoffs. Kings are 15-23. 2 most players battling for the award, one helps his team make the playoffs and maybe wwins a game of two. The other doesnt, I know we are in the east, but thats not our fault :)

Q. Q was a nightmare last year. Watching Q last year was like being forced to watch ruruns of Mash and Waterworld in one while Rosie O'Donnell strips.

I'd vote Dlee but for the NBA I think Kevin martin has a great shot at it. That kid has been lights out
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Kevin Martin or Josh Howard will get the award I think.

It will probably be Kevin Martin but Lee should be in the running.

Why' what's wrong with Mash, Waterworld and Rosie O'Donnell strips? Come on man! You know exactly why Q had a bad season last year.

David Lee can be most improved, because we all knew he could play like this when given minutes and Larry Brown didnt play Lee much. But Q Rich was a bust coming to NY his first year and now he is playing outstanding ball.

In terms of points, I think David Lee is actually the leader, but I think Q Rich deserves it much more. However, I think no Knick deserves any award this season.

Q Richardson, I was one of the people here wanting to trade him, but he has clearly proved me wrong.

I know why Q had a bad season that's more of a reason to give him an award based on what he has overcome from last year.

Q Rich's play is definitely the biggest improvement over last year, but all 3 deserve recognition for their improved play this season.

I think anyone on the Knicks team would have a difficult time securing the Award of Most Improved.

They would be competing with Monta Ellis and Kevin Martin those are the two biggest ones that come to mind. It would be sad and maybe a little bit funny if Matt Barnes ended up winning the award. I don't see Q as really an improvement sure he struggled last season but he had even better seasons with both LA and Phoenix. Curry is a tough sell only because when you think of Most Improved Player you think of someone that is completely unexpected in their success. David has the best chance among Knick players if they make the playoffs I could see him having a even better shot but if I were voting I would go with Kevin or Monta.

Mike Miller, Kevin Martin, Monta Ellis, Biedrins, Lee, and even Caron Butler have strong cases for this award.
