NBA Comparison: Danny Manning (pre-injury)

Strengths: Has great ball skills, can do things not many other 6-10 players can, handle, pass, shoot. Very good in the open floor. Uses his size well. Rebounds well. Very good feel for the game, high basketball IQ. Underrated athlete. Can really get to the basket and finish. Nonchalant court demeanor seems to work for him.

Weaknesses: Biggest knock against Jefferies is that he doesn't play with enough passion. Needs to get stronger. Not super fast, has the ability to run the floor but quickness isn't overwhelming. Needs to be more aggressive.

Notes: Super inside outside player. Has very good handles at 6-10. Can hit the outside J, also has the ability to faceup and take players off the dribble. A very cerebral bigman with great perimeter and post skills. Smooth all around game. Huge upside. Must put on some weight. Doesn't have blinding quickness.

LOL, what happend to his offensive game since college???Is it a loss of confidence or something??

Where did this Jefferies go? At least we know that his offensive game wasn't allways bad. Maybe there is still hope

It's all about system. At Indiana Jeffries was a 15ppg scorer, he would hit some mid-range jumpers but alot of buckets came from slashing. I have been calling and calling and calling for Isiah to let Jeffries get back to this instead of getting him the ball out at the 3point line because he really cant play that far out. He's got a decent midrange shot and he's good around the basket.

Jeffries has not shown that he has a decent midrange anything (jumpshot or free throws). I don't know where his shooting went but if we are going to get any return on our investment he needs to find his jumpshot this summer and comeback next year with some kind of outside game.

College is a different game vs much smaller, slower, weaker players
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I think that if lee can make the leap that he's made jeff should be able to as well.

This season I think he's better suited to come off the bench and play the 4 or 5 when we want to go small.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

All that writting when TRASH would have been more accurate.

Layden was reportedly going to draft him at 7 if he hadn't made the stupid Camby trade.

this guy is looking more & more like a bust of a signing if there ever was one... good thing for him we still have Big Turd on the roster.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Another player that regressed with Michael Jordan. It's all about the extremes with MJ, either he brings our your full potential like Pippen, Horace Grant, BJ Armstrong and Stacey King or he eats you alive like Kwame Brown and JJ2.

Damn you Jordan!

I haven't heard that about one player Isiah has brought in

Jordan is a disaster ever since he left the bulls, he has done little right and ****ed the wizards with his moves, he put the franchise on the map for a couple of seasons, but Richard Hamilton and Elton Brand should have been wizards but mj wanted to hit a home run, had he just went to war with those two he would have taken the team to the playoffs

That scouting report is flattering. He had a great NCAA tourney, but he never was a tremendously skilled player. Athletic, tall, and played under control. Got hot in the tourney and became a lotto pick.

Jefferies was signed because of the Larry Brown backlash. We needed a smart player, good defender, who does little things, who was a good locker room presents. Who didn't complain, played a role. Was a glue type of player.

Thats my reasoning for Isiah adding Jefferies to this lineup. Jefferies was said to be all those things in Washington.

With his height and lenght. He should be a good rebounder and shotblocker at the SF positon. And he should be getting a lot of points down low in the paint beat up smaller forwards without set plays.

Right instead of focusing our attention and resources on finding someone to grow with the young guys we continue to tinker and find role players and "stars" hoping each successive signinng will be the savior that turns us around. We've been tinkering since the day Pat retired.
