well we are officially halfway through the season so a fair assessment can be made. so lets go through the knicks and grade their performance.

center (A-): true we have the top five center in the league. curry has grown immensely this year with his confidence. his post skills have included new arsenal of moves. most importantly he knows how to stay out of foul trouble while using his size. he can't get a solid A because his defense and rebounding needs consistent work. also our backup centers are awful, though cato provides more intangibles than jerome james. our bright spot this year.

forward (B): david lee has been a gem. everyone loves him for good reasons. he can run, rebound, finish and have good court awareness. however he his offense is still iffy and incosistent. though jeffries has provided decent defense, he is a big liability on the offensive end. q-rich, who plays both sf and g, has been having a great year. he is providing everything we ask of him from phoenix including better defense and leadership. however, his health, like always, is a major issue. frye has been having a degressive year. he has been getting better and he should improve in the second half of the season.

guards (C): steph has finally turn it around and putting together his best all around season as a knick. he is doing the right thing at the right time whether it is passing, shooting, driving or providing better defense. but how long will this last? crawford has plateaued but he still provides clutch shooting. his defense from last year has been shown at times this year. plus he is driving more which provides more opportunities. nate robinson has been a sparkplug but he can also cause chemistry issues on the court. the team seems to do better lately when he is not on the court. plus he is too emottional and makes boneheaded mistakes.

coaching(C): thomas has done a good job turning around the mess of last year to make a watchable team. he also makes no qualms about the state of his team. he knows that they are not very good and reminds them. however, he encourage them and makes them believe that they can win, no matter what. glyph and aguirre need to be acknowldge for their work with curry.

overall grade(C): believe it or not, we are in the thick of a race when we are 7 games below 500. scary but true. on our current pace, we should win mid to late 30 games and make a play for the playoffs. we probably won't get in but we would do enough to save isiah's job. we have a brutal 3 wekk schedule but on paper, our after all-star break is as soft asw you can get. that in itself will keep us in the hunt. this conference is as wide open as you can get with so many lackluster teams competing. we are in the thick of it with the team we have. however, this is a prime opportunity to get a difference maker in a trade ( artest, ak47 or ray allen). one move could change our season so drastically that we can be mentioned with the big guns in the east. it is going to be a wild one.
