Isiah's coaching IS very suspect in my opinion. Though he is a good motivator, I think he is playing the wrong guys to start...he should stop using his time-out juice card from the sidelines plus he just sits there and watches the damn game like a fan. He is so jaded about Jared Jeffries, he doesnt use Frye in any sort of productive capacity and he refuses to see what was successful. OPEN YOUR EYES, MAN!

Jamal...committed to getting the ball to Curry and KNOWS how to- - most creative passer...allows Steph to SCORE and play off the ball...JC is much more effective player as a starter...look at the stats- ITS TRUE...plus he takes pressure off Marbury and is comfortable being a third/fourth option

Stephon...we need him to be more aggressive earlier in the game...we need him to SCORE more in the flow of the offense...by taking him off the ball, it will allow him to exploit his strengths more rather than dribbling out the clock trying to get Curry the ball...plus Q gives him a good outside option to kick the ball to and he and Jamal have chemistry

Q...good D...can guard a SF and play like one...can shoot the rock...has two PG's to pass the ball so he can worry about D and hitting shots plus his rebounding helps us tremendously

Lee.."The Eraser"...he erases our guards and our rebounding-challenged center's mistakes...can hit FT's too...can make plays for Curry and can pass out the guards

Curry...needs the ball early and often...has a great rebounder in Lee next to him and a guard he has great chemistry with in Jamal...also Q can help when he passes out the double on the perimeter and in the rebounding dept. Marbury helps him because it takes the pressure off of him when he is being double teamed because Steph also commands attention

BENCH

Jared...come off the bench dude...you barely play and he should be used situationally...to help with guard D esp if you use Jamal and Curry in a two-man game or in helping Frye (who is offensively gifted enough to be a sixth man)

Frye...as mentioned, offensively gifted enough to be a sixth-man...not a string defender but if you use defensive players around him, esp with guys that can step out and shoot a la Jeffries, he'll be okay playing the opponents second team...OR USE HIM AS THE DAMN BACK UP C.

Balkman...use him situationally as well. Can handle the ball in trasition.

Nate...can be used as an energizer off the bench but he is not committed to learning the pt guard position AT ALL. We should prob get some type of vet guard so we can play Nate off the ball.

CATO...get him out of a suit. You cannot ask Lee to play the 5 when Curry is out of the game and you wont use Channing as a C.

Jamal is playing terrible right now...Frye starts to help Curry, if not Curry will be triple team as he is being doubled right now...Isiah should coach this team going forward...He has shown he can get these guys to play...Cato definitely needs some burn..Why is everyone so hung up about Lee coming off the bench...Kevin McHale and John Havlicek came off the bench...They are all time greats....

You play your best combination of players out there. Thats why Lee needs to start. Jamal and Steph played great together. We won a bunch of games after the brawl through the Bobcats. They were the starting backcourt.

The Nets played him well...Collins did a good job of denying him position...It looked like the played a zone around Curry denying him entry passes...Give the Nets some credit but the Knicks and Curry has to learn from this...

Tell me something, how does Lee starting help the flow of the offense???

It's not about the starting lineups, not about who is next to who...its about people stepping up and playing with confidence and not be denied..So far it's just been Marbs and Q...Some one on the front line has to stand up and be counted...

Collins on several plays early blatantly held currys arm. I was shocked the refs let him get away with that and then dared call an offensive foul. I think the refs let some guys (collins and Bowen) often get away with much more than other players. If our guys ever held other teams guys like that it would be whistled fast. Even late RJ was pulling Curry down by the jersey.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I totally agree...He got away with it early and continue..Curry got frustrated...How about Marbs driving in the lane and Kidd grabbed his back and had the other hand on Marbs hand...They called jump ball...

The sad thing was its on our home court. I guess we will just have to hope these calls even out as we become a winning team. Its like in boxing where often you have to knock a champ out to win the belt.

We still get NO RESPECT from the Refs. Steph gets hammered everytime he drives and no call. Jamal on the play just before the Half was getting touched repeatedly by M. Williams and no call!!!! I had to rewind it just to see that I wasn't crazy. Curry of course get's mauled and as soon as he puts any force him his move they call a foul.

Anyway, what the Knicks need to do is stop forcing the offense into Curry. We start of slow everygame cuz the offense is just TOO PREDICTABLE and too easy to defend. The more we get the other players involved early the harder it will be for teams to stop Curry. In fact most of our games when we have a lot of assists and the ball is moving we play MUCH better. The Nets didn't really have to do much to defend us and it's clear that they couldn't even begin to stop Steph or Jamal off the dribble. We need more penetration and kicking and more pick and roll. That's gonna open up everything for Curry, Frye and Q if we get Steph being aggressive and actually run plays for him with plenty of picks and motion.

Has anyone else noticed that Isiah has totally abandoned the motion offense? While I don't think we need to be running in circles out there, we do need more motion and passing than we've had since Curry has come on.

The point of the thread is that we win when certine players are starting and get their games going.I couldn't agree more.Instead of the team looking like it's sleep walking threw 90 percent of the game and coming on when those 5 players on the floor together in the second half, why not start the game that way...................

McHale and Havlicek played for some of the greatest teams in NBA history. Lee plays for a team that is on pace for 34 wins. Unlike those great Celtics teams, this Knicks team can ill afford to have one of its best players and a guy who averages a double-double starting the game on the bench.

Let me tell you something. Being at the game, we ALL saw Eddy not even TRYING to get position downlow, he wasn't working for it. It was a combination of him not getting fed the ball as well as him not putting in the effort to get position. I think every person who was at the game would agree with me.

Even watching on tv you can tell Eddy doesn't try very hard.

Eddy likes it nice and easy where he can stand in the post and have one defender behind him so they can easily get the ball to him. Well that's not what teams are going to do now. They adjusted to him with aggressive double teams before he even gets the ball. Does Eddy have the heart and desire to give the effort it'll take to overcome the double teams? I doubt it.

For one he has the typical bully mentality where if someone fights back with physical play, Eddy just wilts. Secondly when the double teams are successful early in the game, Eddy gets frustrated very easily and loses focus. He starts doing too much, in which case he gets called for offensive fouls (1st quarter), or he just disappears (the rest of the game). When this happens Eddy is a detriment to the team because of how little he contributes defensively.

Jamal maybe more effective as a starter but he's sucked this season as both. I'd soon as cut his minutes and sub in Lee or Balkman at the 3.

There is a nother team out there competing with the Knicks. How about giving the other team some credit for playing good D instead of always ripping our players apart.

Collins guarded Curry at a 3/4 position (on his side) while he got help from defenders behind which made it difficult to feed the ball into Curry.

Starting Lee wasn't going to change the outcome of that game. Frye shot the ball well last night. Lee aint capable of chasing around Vince or Rj on the perimeter. Bottom line, you want best players out there in crunch time and Lee and Craw are usually on the court. How it this an indictment on Isiah? If anything he's showing the utmost confidence in Lee and craw.

If Isiah went with this lineup:
Marb
CRaw
Q
Lee
Curry

Where is the energy off the bench comming from? Where are the tempo changers? (thats waht you want from your bench players) How many minutes does Frye get and what if if Jay is off, wheres the production off the bench? It aint comming from jj2.
