Hes at 18 and 8 and realistically we know he should be grabbing about 12 boards, BUT, he also should be dropping about 25 a game. His points come so easily, he really should be getting about 7 points more per game, which is about 1 bucket more per quarter. If our shooters were able to keep the defenders honest, we'd be able to do that.

On D he sucks, protecting the paint he sucks and obviously hes not even respectable in those areas, but hes actully a good scorer already, with still a very high ceiling.

if he keeps hitting his free throws, then he'll creep up to 20+ ppg.

his ceiling isn't getting much higher, look at the shape he is in? still 15-20 above where he should be he makes that commitment the sky is the limit, but he has a contract right now so i doubt he improves his body in the offseason

He's got 25 and 12 written all over him. He's getting better. He's got more moves, he passes out better, he passes out of the double teams (dare I say ok to well), he's starting to hit his free throws, he's rebounding a little better, his defense still sucks but he's starting to play better and related and maybe most of all... He's playing with passion or attitude or something like that cause the guys just talks, looks and plays different this year. This is a transformation year, enjoy the ride people...

ps - What affect would a young 25 and 12 center (mostly offensive) have on a team with good players... (and how do our players compare to them)...

25 and 12 is asking a lot. How many players in the nba average 25-12. Are you saying Curry will do something nobody else can do?

He is getting double and triple teamed every night. There are only a few centers that give him a problem with his scoring.

Yes, he can everage 25 and 12.
I think the 12 is the hard part for him. I think he can score 40 a game if we had great shooters... hell, I guess either he or the great shooter would score 40 (Mr. Houston, where are you?). I'm feeling that some people don't realize how dominant he is becoming.

He is a franchise center, even with his lack of defense. In a few years his defense might me just ok, which is better than bad. And then consider how much better he will be offensively in a few years, that coupled with his ok defense, still makes him rare. If he actually started to defend good...

That's because he didn't jump.

Reggie Miller never averaged 25 ppg.

And you want Curry to average 25 and 10?

BWAHAHAHA.

Curry will probably average 21 and 9 next year and he will probably top out at about 24-25 pts. and 10 rbs per game. He is not going to be the best center in the league, but he will probably remain in the top-3 or 4 for the next 5-7 years if he stays in shape and continues to work on his game. That is certainly enough to win a championship if we can put the right pieces around him. As has been said before, we really need a young Ben Wallce/P.J. Brown type to help mask Curry's deficiences. I don't think Lee or Frye will cut it. Lee is a great rebounder but he is only an average defensive player and provides no shot-blocking. Maybe he can improve, but I don't see him becoming an intimidating defensive force. Fyre has the length but is not fluid enough to be a defensive presence. I really think we will ultimately have to trade Lee to get the PF we need. Frye can play C and PF and provides scoring for the second unit. Plus, you can put Frye out on the floor to create more space for Curry. You replace Lee with an Okafor-type PF and Curry's defensive lapses will not be as profound. I would hate to lose Lee, but I think we will ultimately have to give him up to get the PF we really need.

You know I just realized the hating Curry gets here is not much different than the hating Jagr gets on the Rangers board or Peyton Manning gets on the Colts board. I guess some "fans" just prefer to hate rather than support their teams guys.

Barely 24 and this is where he is at. No matter what people say this is reason to be optomistic for Curry in the future. He will only get better. The coachs say he works very hard to improve his game and with the exception of the LB year his production has gone up every year in the NBA.

Out of around 470 NBA players Curry barely shows up as a blip on the NBA radar screen:

* Ranks #28 in the NBA in Points Per Game(19.0)
* Ranks #31 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(7.4)
* Ranks #5 in the NBA in Field-Goal Percentage(0.577)
* Ranks #18 in the NBA in Field Goals Made(290.0)
* Ranks #18 in the NBA in Free Throws(197.0)
* Ranks #5 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts(327.0)
* Ranks #19 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(103.0)
* Ranks #32 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds(201.0)
* Ranks #31 in the NBA in Total Rebounds(304.0)
* Ranks #19 in the NBA in Points(777.0)
* Ranks #22 in the NBA in Double-doubles(12.0)
* Ranks #22 in the NBA in Field Goals Per 48 Minutes(9.91)
* Ranks #19 in the NBA in Free Throws Per 48 Minutes(6.73)
* Ranks #5 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts Per 48 Minutes(11.17)
* Ranks #28 in the NBA in Points Per 48 Minutes(26.5)
* Ranks #38 in the NBA in Total Efficiency Points(674.0)

That FTA stat is pretty eye-popping.

True I also left off #1 in points in the paint (Last time I saw it) and #4 in points per shot!

run the same stats, only use centers next time and lets see where he ranks
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

If Curry is supposed to be a top offensive player, you have to compare him to all players.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
