I know its near impossible and quite a long shot. But You want to talk about a young stud that has all the intangibles Eddy lacks and would be able to immediately suit up at PF next to him and make our front court the best in the NBA. While making us Contenders for the next 8 years or so.

I cant really think of any scenerios where we could get him... when is he a FA? I just know the bobcats arent that attractive of a franchise and i think he is exactly what we need, all this Allen/Garnett talk is cute but they are short term.. Okafor would be long term and a perfect fit.

im just dreaming i think but you never know

If the cats got Oden maybe a combo Frye plus Lee plus nate plus a #1 would do it
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

only scenario is if he wants some big bucks and we are willing to sign and trade cuz the MikeCats can't pay him. He has been injury prone and his back is not great.

If seen as defective and a team willing to risk the finances can we work a deal.

Sound familiar?

Is it me or is Charlotte trying to build like an NCAA All-Star team of sorts? Basically their entire starting lineup has had notable success in the tourney and Okafor and Felton actually won the championship.

It actually is quite moronic. If he RAELLY wanted to "do something with his career" he'd embrace the thought of playing for a city like New York and taking them to the promise land... Not rotting in a lottery bound expantion team in a city nobody cares about.

Charlotte is a good basketball city- folks loved the hornets back when- things soured when the owner got greedy.

Dude if think NYC is enough reason for a player to want to be apart of the Knicks than you haven't been paying attention the NBA. Not everyone is enamoured with NYC and more importantly the Knicks suck and have sucked for awhile.

^ That's true. There's no doubt NYC has the most opportunities in the world for all kinds of people, regardless of the profession. But as far as the NBA goes, the Knicks aren't even close to having a seasoned history like the Lakers, Bulls, Pistons, Celtics, and you can probably throw in the Heat, because they have two better players then the Knicks ever had. I'm a Knicks fan because I just grew up to be one, I didn't fall for any of the NYC cliche'. It doesn't dazzle me at all. Some guys actually prefer to just play for the smaller market teams, and they thrive at it.

A lot of players want nothing to do with NYC. Its a much easier way of life outside NYC. Duncan said he would never play in NYC. Duncan has it easy. Lives in a beautiful suburban home that is 15 minutes from the arena and 10 minutes from the practice facility. Doesnt have to deal with traffic. Doesnt have to worry about the media taking pot shots at him. Can go anywhere he wants in town without a possy or body guards.

Just ask Tim Duncan.

Though, I wouldn't understimate the allure NYC really has. Hell, the damn Nets are moving here b/c no one pays them any attention at the MeadowSwamp. I'm thoroughly convinced that we could easily draw free agents here if our salary situation were a little better (not my money) instead of guys using us to get sweeter deals elsewhere.

And, take this into account, what NBA player wouldn't want to have the mantle of being that guy who brought a championship to the Knicks for the first time since 1973? I don't watch hockey but I'm sure Mark Messier absolutely loves having something similar to that honor with the Rangers.

Tim Duncan always comes across as a guy who, if you just stuck him in a town, would just be a really tall guy. He seems like someone who would live in an $800/mo 1-br apartment and drive a Geo Metro or hope on the subway, even though he has millions. :)

Drafting blue chip players from top teams while managing your cap is really a smart thing.

Charlottes woes are suprising this year. They are one greg oden away form being very good!

My guess is they will win a championship before the knicks will.

NYC arrogance as being the ONLY place to live is really shortsighted. I love NY, but have been very happy living in the Carolinas the last 20 years.

Its the greatest city in the world, but its still a city!

LOL,
I'm sure he will have a great career in Charlotte!

The time is changing, a few playoff appearances and people will want to come.

while that's true, it's also true that there's hardly another market in sports where you'll gain as much prestige & glory if you help to win a championship in than NYC... so if Okafor wants to stay in Charlotte because he'd be too scared to take on the challenge of playing in NYC, then to hell with him... let him rot there... (obviously i'm not saying there's any chance we can trade for him anytime soon anyways)

NYC needs guys w/thick skin & who aren't afraid to be called out & be held accountable for their actions both on & off the court, & who will step up to any challenge w/o fear of failure... Okafor's an incredible player, but if he doesn't wanna play here, then F him.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
