Oh My when I saw him get that Tech after the refs called a T on Steph, I was like their marriage is official.

Aren't Zeke's Tech's pure comedy? Am I off base here or what? His tech's are so random and aimlessly lack any purpose whatsoever.

It was a strategic move, he wanted to give arenas four free throws to get him in rythm so he could make an excuse about why we lost....

great timing

The refs were absoluely sucking. Steph went into the lane and got mauled on several occasions and the refs 'let em play' then Arenas gets Steph in the air and jumps foward into him, and they call a foul. It was a good tech, you guys are haters.

When a coach, any coach, rushes in to defend his player, any player, to the refs... it sends a strong signal to that player to focus on the game ... and the rest of the players that, "I got your back".

That is not a crime.

The Knicks, as a result, played focused basketball and never complained to the refs for the rest of the game... Despite some suspect non-calls.

They were terrible no question, but it was not the right time to go and get a tech, after one had already been handed out.....get the tech for the player if you want, but don't get one on top of him

MS - of course you do. It's not unlike a baseball manager rushing in to get between a batter to prevent him from getting tossed arguing balls and strikes.

Marbury had been fouled hard on a previous time down the floor with no call. Zeke simply got between Marbury and the official by serving as a deliberate distraction.

Coaches who understand the artistry, and timing, of the technical foul have been noted in NBA history books.

One of my favorites was Alex Hannum of the Phila 76ers. Pure theatre and fun to watch.

Misterearl his tech was retarded. Honestly do you think most of these feel Zeke doesn't have their back maybe besides Steve Francis and possibly Nate?

It's once again him going above and beyond what's necessary displaying himself as an Azz. I mean they were on the road and calls can be very tough to come by at times.

Stop apologizing all the time. Most of Zeke's tech's this yr have been uncalled for.

Another note how come Zeke didn't defend Nate the other night and Q ended up coming to his rescue piling on another tech? Nate does have a bad situation with the refs. Did Zeke come play daddy or husband for him? Has he all yr?

TrueBlue - my analysis was not an apology. We can disagree.

So, your point is that Isiah Thomas was "once again him going above and beyond what's necessary displaying himself as an Azz"?

Excellent.

I think it's a benign issue. One play in the early going doesn't decide the game. Had those techs not occured both teams would have handled the final minutes differently and you can't tell what would have happened.

From Marb's point of view, I'm okay with the tech. He was frustrated. He got it off his chest and went back to playing afterwards. Isiah asking for a tech was just bravado and was pointless. As a player sometimes it's nice to see your coach have your back. It does make you feel better about him. But it doesn't make you play better or worse. And is pointless.
I just hope that people will like me

7 techs for Isiah 5 for Mabury, nate who knows how many, steve francis, etc......play the game... you get a tech like that up big or down big not in the middle of the game, and allow their most dangerous player to get fts

Don't forget captain Q-Rich he has a few himself. I just don't like how they go about getting them. I agree with you I had no problem with Steph being a little upset he is playing the actual game but for Zeke to come midcourt and act like Bozo The Clown is ridiculous.

i was just worried that he would pick up a second tech sometime in the next half. he was playing well and without his D on arenas we didn't have a shot that game. that was my biggest problem with the tech.

Bozo The Clown Never Won An NBA Title or Played for Bobby Knight Either

TrueBlue - it was a distraction dude.

The Knicks could not afford to have Marbury tossed. Zeke did his job by stepping in to prevent that from happening.

TrueBlue - how would you label Bobby Knight's behavior?

>>The guy is a disaster!

More enlightened analysis with plenty of substance.

Where is the dude who wrote that New York basketball fans were among the most knowledgable?

"The guy is a disaster"?

Is that the best you can do MS?

I want a refund!

Stay on point and stick with the Knicks and stop throwing other people, teams, coaches into the scenario. This goes back to the old saying "If I jump off a bridge are you going to follow me?"
