The film is about you, I and everyone else. It is about us as individuals, and how we as individuals can make a difference. The only thing I can do is to recycle, try to buy products that is said to be environmentally friendly and most importantly, tell as many people as I can. As far as being oil free by 2045, that is way too late, because according to what the film is telling us, this is when the caps will be completely melted and the oceans will rise by 20 or more feet. This means much of New York City will be under water for one thing. I was enlightened by the fact that 'insurance' companies are starting to see the impact of damage that has been going on, more recently with 'Katrina' and how they are going to be a part of the work horse that forces industries to stop putting all of this crap into the atmosphere. That is very encouraging. I have a friend who's wife bought a car that runs on a rechargible battery, that charges itself, every time you push down on the break. Fascinating! But all in all, if you guys see the film and without panicking and without being worried about it for the rest of your life, it's really just a matter of telling others of this film and maybe being a little more pro-active about it all. The beauty of this movement isn't about religion (even a lot of churches are having concerns about this issue) or politics or anything else, other than the fact that it is about the planet we live on and how we should think about it and live on it. Not anyone human being is responsible for all that is happening, so not one person can turn it all around, but we as a race of people, human beings, can act by contributing and changing minds one at a time. We have roughly a ten year window to 'begin' to make that difference. It is a fact that the caps are melting and they say we need to change our ways now. If you have children, then it would be in they're best interest to start thinking about these things. There is also a lot of useful information as to what you can do to make a difference. To me, getting the word out to as many people as possible is extremely key to pulling things out of our atmosphere. If you have not seen the film yet, see it. For me, I have to say it is probably the most important film I have ever seen. And if you watch it, watch it again with the director and producers commentaries. Thers is also some updated information in the special features section.
Good luck.
