...has it been a quiet year for NBA trading?
Not just now, but even the off-season was exceedingly quiet. As for the Knicks, aside from signing Jeffries and our draft picks, Isiahs been uncharacteristically static since last year's trading deadline. Perhaps I got used to the high level of player churning that he had been doing.

I think the line is that Dolan has handcuffed Isiah from making any more trades.

Almost right on cue.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think it is Dolan who is uncharacteristically stingy this year, given Isiah's job is under scrutiny he wouldn't mind spending but it seems Mr $$$ is not agreeing.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Dolan did let Isiah spend $30MM on Jeffries. After convincing Dolan that it was all Larry Brown's fault last year and that the team Larry was given was good enough to win with, Dolan is holding Isiah to that. But Isiah has had the advantage of adding defensive minded players like Jeffries and Balkman to the team that Larry was supposed to have won with.

Sure Isles but 30MM in Dolan country is stingy, he has spend a billion in every previous year. We'll see, the end of the trading deadline is approaching and the knicks are still out of playoff contention so Isiah might try to convince Dolan again. The problem is that one gets scared of Isaiah's trades, for one or other funny reason he'll go after Ray Allen and trade Lee and Curry for him.

I really hope your not going to start using Jeffries and Balkman as the excuse for our big improvment this year in order not to give Isiah any credit as a coach.

No. I was going to give credit for this "improvement" to the players for not completely quitting this year and to the GM for actually backing up his coach for the first time in 5 coaches.

Can't argue with that.
I would add that LB didn't really try to develop any chemistry at all hence our collapses all year long.
