Nazr May Ask For Trade
16th January, 2007 - 11:13 am
Pioneer Press -

With Chris Webber set to sign with the Detroit Pistons , Nazr Mohammed may be sent to the Timberwolves in exchange for Marko Jaric.

"I'm not the type of guy that can sit on the bench happy," Mohammed told the Associated Press. "I came here to play. If I'm not in the plan, I would ask for a trade."

He'd be a good guy to get back and stick next to Eddy as a defensive minded rebounder and shotblocker. Where do I sign up?

Why trade our two best 3pt shootings for a backup center that we don't need (we already Cato and JJ1) and Crawford-lite in Flip Murray?

i think quentin is damaged goods. plus, he's not that great a shooter (look at his career %'s) and he's not mobile enough to run around after sg's.

he had zero lift yesterday and will be plagued with back issues for the rest of his career.

flip only has one more year.

but nazr would become our best defensive big man and you can play him WITH eddy. and it also allows eddy to be a little more aggressive defensively and get a few fouls b/c we have a quality backup.

No thanks to that. I think Nate is just as good as Flip and Nazr is a little overrated. I like the guy and he can do nice things, but he's not a shotblocking intimidator and he's not the greatest on defense. Decent, but not special.

If you wanna trade Q, go elsewhere.

Nah man that's too steep.

Flip is a good player though. Delfino and maxiel also. If there wAs a way to get 2 of those guys I would jump on it.

if he's grumbling about playing time playing behind CWebb & Sheed, he's not going to be any happier playing behind Curry, Lee & Frye either... & i don't want to see him taking any minutes away from any of them.

that's why i suggested a trade involving Frye & getting back Delfino & those 2 1st rounders they have in this year's draft... i think the Knicks could really make out well in that deal overall if Isiah picks the right guys w/those picks, & i like his eye for young talent.

Uh- I don't remember anybody here singing the defensive praises of Nazr when he was here.

And when he was here- he got points off put backs off drives to the basket- and those are now going to curry- don't see how they could play together.

And, given that Nazr might be able to get a ring- I think he will be happy there in Detroit.

But- if we could combo Nate & Q and get back a solid outside shoot like a Ray Allen, Mike Miller or Matt Carroll (
), you do it.

But Q, though not mobile, has been drawing doubles himself down on the block.

i said nazr would become our best defensive big man.

i didn't say he was an awesome one, or a good one, i just said he would be OUR best one.

Can anyone figure a way to get delfino and maxiel?

If we dig deeper what about trying to pull the slumping rasheed Wallace? Right away Frye would have to be in it.

How about sheed, maxiel and delfino for frye, Q, Nate and a filler?

What about Matt caroll? That dude always could shoot but did anyone think he would be playing good ball like he is?

Well JJ and Nazr have the same deal and JJ actually has a year less on his deal, maybe the Pistons would just like to get Nazr out?

I have a feeling the Nets will have a better package than us.

Nazr/Delfino JJ/Nate/Draft considerations?

EDIT: JJ as in Jerome

curry playing more minutes is good to see and i think alot of it has to do with his weight loss.

but he probably rests on the defensive end. if you bring in a quality backup, or move frye to the backup spot, cut curry's minutes by 5, then maybe he will give you some more effort on the defensive end.
