What happens when its time to ante up for our young ones and sign them to non-rookie contracts?
Do we have the ability to match offers from other teams?

They will be restricted free-agents I believe so yes the Knicks will have the ability to match offers. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

We have to give them qualifying offers but once we do, we will be able to match any offer made to them and can go over the cap to do it (we will be over the cap anyway). Unless one of them gets injured, I see no reason why we would not be able to resign Frye and Lee. Marbury and Francis contracts will be off the books (even if Marbury is still here, we will probably be paying him half of his current salary). That is the good thing about the CBA and our owner's willingness to spend. We should be able to keep our entire team because the most Lee or Frye could make under the CBA is about $10-$12 mil a year and there is a chance we will not have to max out both of them.

I know I might get burned for this but it really is a comfort to know your team has an owner who is willing and eager to spend money on your talent. We actually have an extremely bright future even though we have been in the doldrums for the past few years. Look at it this way, at least we are not the Lakers... who peaked already for this past and coming decade.
