Didn't realize how bad his shooting has been until I checked his stats.

.384 on FGs
.303 on 3pt

Highest turnover rate in his career at 2.6 a game.

Id like to see his per minute bench and starter number tho. its true that he puts up better numbers when he starts but, he also plays a good deal more minutes.

the differences between crawford as a starter or as a sub is an increase in assists (+1.2) but also a decrease in free throw attemps (-1.6).

outside of that, his per minute production is about the same.

DJ, those stats you posted have a mistake. Percentages don't change when you do them per xy minutes. They're already a ratio.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

the percentages are rounded UP (my mistake via excel)

in the case of a starter: he makes 7.1 shots on 18.0 attempts
prorated to 48 mins: he makes 8.1 shots on 20.5 attempts which comes out to 39.5 %

in the case of a sub: he makes 4.5 shots on 12.4 attempts
prorated to 48 mins: he makes 7.0 shots on 19.2 attempts which comes out to 36.5 %

i updated the stats

Bottom line...

10-11 when Jamal starts
6-11 when Jamal is a 6th man

I'll take 10-11!!! And the 6.0 ppg and almost 3% in FG% Oh yeah, the assists are much higher as well.

And...Marbury plays much better as a starter next to him. With Jamal in the SL, he made about 50% of his shots versus under 40% without him

10-11, 6-11, big whop, both records suck. They're both crap, and it's just a matter of taking the less of the crappy.

It's like I've said, the whole backcourt needs to be blown out, and if that means getting rid of Jamal, so be it. Love the guy, but he's not a proven winning player.

Someone has to put a leash on his shooting though. He has all the talent to drive into the lane and get fouled. Dude should stop shooting unless he is open.

Crawford is not that good, everyone is under some flash notion that he is part of the future, you can find players like him wherever you look in this league. He has digressed as a player partly because there is no coaching out there. Its just go out and play and have a good time, you have the green light, shoot whenever you want.

He has really been the most disapointing player on the team this year

of course you will. For so many around here that would merit Isiah a 3 year extension and possibly a parade.

I think Jamal, like Lee and most other players do better with a lot of minutes. We really need an 8-9 man rotation.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

you're right, it's nothing to get excited over, but if you're going to get rid of Crawford for not being a winning player, the same must be done for Marbury... IMHO, if you let Jamal start at PG he'd be a much more efficient player... but if you have to get rid of him, then you need to get yourself a big, physical defensive minded G who can hit the open jumper to play alongside Marbury.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Crawford has to get it out his head that he's a starter and find it in himself to give his best when he comes off the bench. He's not Michael Jordon or Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade. He hasn't established himself to the point where he should expect a starting job. He should be satisfied with being in the rotation.

I can't believe that around the back play he tried a few min. ago. It looked like he was just trying to put on a show instead of playing hard to win.
