With the flurry of buy out talk in the NBA, I wonder if we've
seen the top of the market for salaries for a while. I wonder
if GMs will be working within more restrained guidelines in signing
anyone other than proven bonafide franchise talent.

doubt it. teams are bidding against each other for players, that will always drive the price up.

No way, there are some many gms in the league that have no idea what they are doing

ny, philly, atlanta, minny, lac, cavs, hornets, they just throw money around and don't look at the ramifications because they have a short time to make something happen and then someone else takes over the mess

which is mindboggling why gm's draft high school players that may take 3-4 years to develop to even something decent...and in the same time, the gm is on the welfare line.

it all depends on how much the league grows & how much money the teams are making... we all thought salaries in baseball would be capped after the ridiculous contracts ARod, Jeter & Manny signed a few years back, but this past offseason set some new standards in obsenity w/the likes of Gil Meche, Vincente Padilla & Ted Lilly getting multi-year monster deals of their own, not to mention the crazy contract Barry Zito just signed, & how much the Red Sox shelled out for Daisuke in total.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
