This is going to be a big problem, and everyone knows or has posted that we are a little out of sync because there are so many guys that need minutes, but where do those minutes go now that everyone is healthy and Isiah is hell bent using jefferies at all costs no matter what production...

But I think in order for the Knicks to make a serious run in the East, they are a disgrace if they can't get into the playoffs with their roster, they should stick to the plan below. I really don't think its out of the question to contend in the East.....When we are playing our best ball I am going to put the BULLS and HEAT ahead of us. We can beat the cavs and the magic in a series, and the heat who knows i really like our chances there (especially with James, Cato, Rose giving fouls along with Eddy).....

C-Eddy Curry: 35 minutes a night Frye: 10 minutes
PF-David Lee: 38 minutes a night Frye: 10 minutes
SF-Q: 30 minutes Jefferies: 15 minutes
SG-Crawford: 33 minutes Balkman split between sf/sg 15 minutes
PG-Marbury: 35 minutes Nate: 15 minutes

This give us a balanced attack and 30 minutes out of Balkman/Nate is neeeded for an energy infusion, but Isiah is a joke so he won't give Balkman the minutes because of the legend of JJ2 which he has created thus our best shootblocking presence and perhaps our second best rebounder will sit and those minutes will go to jefferies.....

C-Eddy Curry: 30 minutes a night Frye: 18 minutes
PF-David Lee: 35 minutes a night Jefferies: 13 minutes
SF-Jefferies: 13 minutes Q: 15 minutes Balkman 20 minutes
SG-Q:15 minutes Crawford 17 minutes
PG-Marbury: 35 minutes Crawford 13 minutes

I just balanced out the minutes per/48

Basically what I want is a SL of Eddy, Lee, JJSkinny, Q and Marbury.
I want to establish size and rebounding right off the bat. Also with Curry/Q/Marbury thats plenty off offense and its our best rebounding team.

I want Eddy to put some effort in on both ends of the floor. Thats not happening with 38-40 minutes of play.
I want Frye to be featured as the center and off the bench and not at PF
I want Crawford as the primary backup at PG and SG for small line ups when Q moves to SF
I want Nate to sit and watch and learn how to play the right way. He can earn spot minutes with smart play.
I want Lee to start next to Eddy and play that combo together as much as possible
I want to keep the rotation to 8 players as is the norm in the NBA.

MAlik can get spot duty if someone is in foul trouble.
Nate can get spote duty if he's shown he can not be retarded.

Francis is gone
JJFat doesnt earn any playing time
Mardy can wait his turn, watch and learn
Cato is a good guy and hard worker but doesnt fit in an 8 man rotation unless there is a foul/injury problem.

This is the best scenario for us to win and build consistancy. This puts guys in the best position to succeed.

MS I think your rotation is damn near perfect... The only thing I might do is throw Kato in once in a while to block some shots an play some good D.

Also might play Nate at some backup 2 here and there.

I cosign your rotation though

agreed on cato when he is needed, especially to keep people out of foul trouble

MS Here is your Rotation equaled out to 48 MPG for each position with some minor adjustments tell me what you think.. this is what i'd go for:

C-Eddy Curry: 33 minutes a night Frye: 10 minutes Kato or Frye:5 minutes
PF-David Lee: 35 minutes a night Frye: 13 minutes
SF-Q: 30 minutes Jefferies: 11 minutes Balkman: 7 minutes
SG-Crawford: 37 minutes Nate: 7 minutes Jeffries or Collins: 4 minutes
PG-Marbury: 35 minutes Nate: 13 minutes

Crawford: 37 MPG
Lee: 35 MPG
Marbury: 35 MPG
Curry: 33 MPG
Q: 30 MPG
Frye: 23-28 MPG
Nate: 20 MPG
Jeffries: 11-15 MPG
Balkman: 7 MPG
Kato: 0-5 MPG
Collins: 0-4 MPG

I'd like to get Balkman some more time but I just don't see how..... If he outplays Jeffries i'd give him his minutes, kind of let the 2 of them battle for that 18-23 mpg. You could gives Nates minutes to Balkman at the 2 but for some reason I am not comfortable with Balkman at 2..

to further explain: I would play Jamal the most minutes because we are a little thin at SG and I think out of everyone his body is the most equipped to handle long minutes. Lee I would love to play more but I'm worried about him getting run down since he plays with such reckless abandon... I think 35mpg is just about right.
