Nobody is taking Eli for better than a third round pick these days

i'll tell u what would work... if you offered them Eli & Shockey for the draft rights to their #1 pick, they probably do it... or Eli & Osi maybe... but does that help the Giants get better?

No way Oakland does that trade unless you give them all of our first day picks... no way... they are a team needing much much more than a QB, let alone Eli, who still has a long way to go himself.

me too... I hated the way he drove them down the field to score the game tying touchdown. I hated how when the OLine put us in a 2nd and 30 hole how Eli made two big plays under pressure to set them up for the tie. It didnt bother me so much when the defense laid down so the Eagles could walk down the field for the game winner. No biggie there. Did the defense even force a 3rd down during that drive?

I agree Fish. Eli hasn't been great but he's a young QB who needs the support of his O-Line and the rest of the offense. In no way am I absolving him of his play because he SERIOUSLY needs to work on his accuracy as well as taking a shot on the blitz, but the offensive line many times hasn't given Eli the real chance to the best he can be. False starts, personal fouls, holding has become the trend for this offensive line, they hardly ever string together a good quarter of play, let alone a good half or a good game. The first order of business should be to find a top LT to protect Eli's blind side. Petigout is a pretty good blocker when he's not picking up false start calls, but he picks up more false-start calls then anyone I've ever seen. The O-line should be top-priority. I like O'Hara and I think McKenzee is pretty good but he could do better himself.

It would also be nice if Shockey and Plaxico would stay up here for minicamp instead of going down to Miami so they can work with Eli, I think that would help things out a bit.

Another thing that I think would be beneficiary is that if the team let Eli call the plays. Eli plays his best when he's running the no-huddle and I understand that part of that is due to teams playing a prevent defense but I haven't seen too many QB's engineer no-huddle drives like Eli does. I think this team should work to his strengths and that is certainly one of them.

NYKresurrection I am sending death rays to you right now. Eli is the man. Give him time.

The first step would get get TC out of there. He really blew our season starting with the Chi game.

We have a 6'4 265 weapon in our backfield and yet we don't use him though he causes so many matchup problems for a defense. TC put Eli is worse positions than he should have been. We should have been running the ball 35 times a game and throwing the ball 20-22. 20 with Tiki unless he is absolutly on fire. And 15 with Jacobs. Then when the defense loads the box. We take deep shots with Burres, Carter, Moss in order to keep them guessing. It so much pressure off Eli. Instead they just added pressure trying to make him into his brother.

Imagine this. 4 Wr set with Jacobs as the single back. If the defense uses 3 LBs to stuff the run then our WRs burn there LBs deep. If they use the safetys to double to help the slot Wrs then we have single coverage on Toomer/Carter & Burress If they use 1 LB & 2 CBs to matchup. Then Jacobs can run over some smaller CBs.

Or how about using split back formation. The defense is going to have to matchup LBs on Jacobs & Tiki which leaves single coverage for Shockey. If they double with a safety. Then we have single coverage with on Toomer/Carter or Burress.

There are probably hundreds of things we could have done with Tiki & Jacobs to open things up for Eli. Instead we wasted that option since Tiki is retiring.

Another thing about Eli, An announcer was bringing up a very good opinion. He was saying that Toomer, Eli's best target is a good route runner. Burress & Shocker are more freelancer types. Eli isn't a gun slinger. He needs more route runner types and he will be more comfortable. But if he has to be a Brett Farve gun slinge type. Its not his strength. Not that I want to get rid of Burress & Shockey. But we gotta hope that S.Moss can be another route runner and Toomer can come back healthy.

Last thing. Football games are won at the line of scrimmage. When it comes to the roster. Thats the first order of buisness. Build a dominating offensvie & defensive line. Offensive line is good already. But if we can get an upgrade over Luke then we got to do it. We also need a bonifide stud at DT. Maybe even 2. Though I like Cofield, even though he fell off at the end. But we definatly need a stud at DT and to sure up our O-Line. The whole Draft should be defensive players. We need CBs, DTs, outside LBs, Ss. Everything but DEs.
