The guy is a 2nd year player with tons of potential just like nate and lee. where not expected to win any rings this year and were basically in a growing process. To get rid of a big man with range at this point in his career would be grounds for immidiate fire. He will become a better rebounder, and he definitely added a hook shot this off season, and he seems like he has a good work ethic.

What the heck are we suppose to do trade everyone after 6 months, how are we suppose to get any chemistry like that. A team needs 2 to 3 seasons ( unless you have nash or kidd at the point) to gel, even more so when your dealing with a young bunch.
Even then it could comeback to hunt you if you jump at it to soon. Its all about a good fit, It would be a blessing if frye, Curry, and Lee were one person.. a la Patrick Ewing..But there not, and we need to give it some time.

Because Frye doesn't have that much potential, he can't defend, run the floor, rebound, box out all he can do is shoot a jumper, and if your physical with him he folds. When you look at what we could have got for him last year, its upsetting

this is just his second year so we can't say that he plataued. i mean we said the same thing about curry. frye is the only big man we have with range. that is a valuable asset and a great compliment to curry offensively. true he is not a true banger but unfortunately he is one of our best shotblockers and he is willing to learn the game. is lee a better compliment for curry than frye right now? maybe. but i think he will get better. we just need to be patient. however if the right deal comes along like maybe garnett or j. o'neal, i would trade him without hesitation.

Could have said the same thing about Dirk when he came into the league. Im still not seeing why he can't get better with experience and guidence, it's not as if he some hard headed player who listens only to himself.

Same reason there are JJ "haters", Francis "haters", Marbury "haters", Crawford "haters" etc. Some people like his game and some people don't. What's the big deal?

I personally like Frye. As constructed with Curry and Lee shaping up to be our frontcourt duo where does that leave Frye? He struggles guarding perimeter defenders so SF is a poor option. So what is our goal for him? He may be better suited for a backup role at the PF/C spot. Time will tell. Eventually it may become true that he is more valuable in a trade. Maybe not know, but in the future it is a possibility. YOu don't have to hate the guy to think it's a viable option.

Three quality PF/C big men is a good problem to have. I don't look to trade Frye. I especially don't bench him. I keep starting him to keep him confident and look for him to regain his trade value and his overall game. Anyone who says Frye has no potential, despite what they claim to know, is being premature. Everyone wants to write off the guy who is currently struggling. If not Frye, then Jefferies.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

fans have personal preferences on the type of players they like. like bip said "what's the big deal?"

but when talking about what could work and what can't, then that's a different issue altogether.

i THINK i know how to build a team to contend. hence when i look at a frontcourt of frye and curry, i see one that doesn't defend good enough to win big time in this league. so by my views on team building and what it takes to win, i don't see them as a match. i could be completely wrong. i could be spot on in my assessments. but again, who cares? i still watch all the games, still am a season ticket holder, and get the same amount of enjoyment from the team whether they're winning or losing. "critiquing" isiah and his moves gives me the same amount of joy as giving him verbal bj's.

sure it's dumb, but I think it legitmately plays into fans' visceral response to him.

I've watched Frye since he was a Freshman at Arizona and he is the exact same player now as he was then. His game hasn't improved at all since then and thats why I'm down on him, he's a jumpshooting big man, a 6'11 SG, who will occasionally grab you a few rebounds or block a shot. Occasionally.

I don't think Frye will become an all-star, but I could see him becoming a very solid starting caliber PF/C for this team for years. The biggest knocks are his defense and rebounding. I think his rebounding will improve with strength and technique training and I also think he can become a better defensive player. WHere I really see him exploding is on the offensive end. He is not a Amare type of explosive player, but he has great touch. if he builds up his body so that he can maintain his position and not get knocked off balance, I can see him becoming a 18-20+ scorer if given 30+ a game. That type of player would be worth alot in a trade, so why trade him before he gets to that level. I like our frontcourt and don't see the need to make any changes there this year.

Not me. I look at the players and decide based on how they look. For example, Marbury has that big head, and that irritating mustache.

Crawford always has a bandage hanging off his chin for some reason.

And, of course, Frye looks like a dork.

Did he have the low-post game then that he has now? When you saw him as a Freshman at Arizona, did you really think he would be top 5 in rookie first team voting?
