Oakley's constant bashing of his former team has hurt his chances of having his number retired? I loved Oak but I dont think we need to retire his number anyway. He was a great lunchpail guy and perfect role player but not number-retired worthy... Ewing says he will try not to break down during his ceremony on Feb 28. I am so siked for that it will be an emotional and memorable wonderful evening. Wish I could be going to that game... Surprising comments by Chaney saying he loved when Spree put the ball in Buckner's face. Chaney is pretty cool in my book, he seems to back his players real good and tell it like it is.

I agree that his comments hurt his chances of having his number
retired but I still think at some point they should retire his number
anyway. His numbers as a Knick are comparable to some of the guys with
their numbers retired. The Knicks wouldnt have been nearly as
successful without oak,he wasnt called the heart and soul of the
Knicks back then for nothing, its ashame that he couldnt have been
classier about the Knicks after he left but it shouldnt prevent him
from being properly honored.
