Marbury & Frye should work the pick and roll. Curry should still be the focal point. Early in the game they should run the pick and roll a few times. Let Frye get a few open 15fters to get him going. And when they triple Curry we should switch the offense to the pick and roll for a few plays to force opponents bigs to pay attention to the high post instead of just packing in the paint to stop Curry.

Besides pick and roll is one of Marbury & Fryes best strengths. Its one thing to do that every single play, but you don't have abandon it completely.

That's a great question. For all the criticism Marbury gets about dominating the ball and not moving it well (much of it is justified), I will say that he is one of the top 3 or 4 pick and roll passers in the league. When it's a pick and pop, he gets it very quickly to the open man. When it's a pick and roll, he threads the pass through the defense very well. He usually throws the pass to the perfect location (e.g., right at chest level on the pick and pop so the player can shoot quickly).

I agree%, while Curry is howing he can dominate the paint, we need to diversify our offense to keep the other team guessing.

It seems the pick and roll will have to wait until after the fullcourt aspect of the "quick" offense has been integrated, which Isiah promised us will be forthcoming.

I'm just busting Isiah for the hype of his ballyhooed "Quick", "Push", high-post shuffle/Bobby Knight/Triangle offense, that some thought was such a genius concept/system. It was said to be such an advanced system that he had to teach it in parts, starting in half-court mode with him promising to a full-court component later on. This system was supposed to feature ball distribution from the forward position virtually eliminating the need for a PG.

Well not only does it appear he didn't add the fullcourt component but it appears the system was largely dropped in favor of a traditional halfcourt offense reliant on traditional PG and low post scoring roles, as seen from Marbury and Eddy.

So are we still waiting for the "Quick" offense to be fully implemented, or has it been dropped? Are we waiting for the pick n roll to be implemented, or will we move onto something else first? Is the system changing because Isiah is experimenting, can't make up his mind, key players can't handle the roles (like playmaking forwards), or was the "Quick/Push" offense ill conceived for this roster from the outset, given that our two "star" players (Marbruy/Curry) are halfcourt oriented?

Ditto for the pick n roll. If we're to be a halfcourt oriented with traditional roles kind of squad why not use the PnR? What is our system, and what is our identity? And wasn't Brown's lack of use of the PnR often offered as evidence (along with Lee not starting) that Larry didn't want us to win? Yet we see both from Isiah?

So many questions, so few answers. No wonder we're all so confused.

Why did we abandon the pick and roll?
