From my notebook:

Speaking of defense, is anybody watching Jamal Crawford getting more involved on that end of the floor? He limited Sacramento’s leading scorer, Kevin Martin, to 12 points on Tuesday and held Portland’s up-and-coming rookie, Brandon Roy, to 14 points on Wednesday.

Stephon Marbury was great. Admit it. He set a proper tone right from the beginning and followed through. It was a complete effort – 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one turnover.

In case anybody wants to see what rebuilding in the NBA is really like, watch a few more
Portland games. That’s what happens when you blow a team up and rely on young players. New Yorkers could never be that patient.

Yeah. Martin played 9 less minutes than usual, shot above 50% from the field. Could it have been becuase Artest was going for 39?

Roy (a rookie) scored one more point than his season average.

The effort has been better but this is a stretch

...and to the rebuilding part of his blog....

How different are the Knicks right now? 13-20 vs 14-21? We are tolerating it now aren't we?

Rebuilding is a lot easier if your gms have a brain, and don't draft 5'11 high school pgs, sign someone that is a huge baby to an 86 million dollar deal, extend darius miles and play in the middle of no where and spin off the planet when it comes to being relevant. You can rebuild if you have a brain and do it the right way......

The bulls would have been rebuilt in five minutes but free agents didn't go there out of respect for jordon, and they gave away the best frontcourt in the nba for peanuts. Miller/Brand/Artest when all three were coming into their prime.....

The suns did it on a fly, the spurs got lucky but still used 20 something picks to actually draft cornerstones ginobelli and parker, the lakers did a decent job of it although they had shaq to trade......

Miami did it, but Riley decided a championship was more important than long term success but can't disagree......The would have had odom, wade, and butler for a long time, but now wade is gone after his contract runs out......

The warriors could have done it, however Mullin rushed to deals with Foyle? Dunleavy? If the timberwolves had a front office they would just move KG, tank the season get a nice lotto pick because they would finish with the worst record, and have the knicks pick, plus deng and thomas to go with foye, mccants and young rookie.......

The bucks did a nice job getting in some young talent, bogut, mo williams, villenueva to go with redd.....

Had the raptors had a good gm in place they could have had something special but they didn't do their job.....The magic had a real oppurtunity to make a move that would have sent tracey to the suns for joe johnson and marion to pair them with dwight howard and jameer nelson which could have been a championship contended......

Ignorant blog, but someone that doesn't know the game
