What would you guys say to picking up Sam Perkins for a year? If Longley's contract is bought out, we might have the room to do it, and the Pacers just waived him. Even though he is very old, I think he would be a decent back-up center, he still gives the Knicks trouble. He pulls centers out so far it will help Shandon anderson and Spree when they penetrate. Right now I think he's the best we can get for free. Then we should trade one of our point guards and try to get a draft pick and omar cook from the Nuggets in return. Maybe a three-way deal with the Knicks sending ward and Harrington to the Warriors, the Warriors sending Dampier or Foyle to the Nuggets, and us getting cook and a first-rounder. Thoughts?

I think the Perkins thing might work for a year. But why get a problem and a project all in one player. I do not think that O would be able to handle the discipline and the pressure.

I can't really see us getting Perkins mainly because when he gets cut, you know he's ready to retire. Also, he's only 6-9 and i think we should look for a bigger center. Right now, we really need to look into dealing with golden state cuz i wouldn't mind getting Foyle, Jackson, Dampier, or Fortson. I really think we have a great opportunity to get Jackson though, maybe for Harrington and our Mark Jackson.
