Its good to see another one of Isiah's brilliant moves is working out nicely, although we shouldn't be suprised after he refuses to start David Lee and compares someone that is in the top 3 fg% in the NBA and again put up another double double last night, 16pts 15rbs 3rbs clearly there are a lot of power fowards out there putting up numbers like that.......

Isiah the genius that he is doesn't resign Ariza for a fraction of the price, put brings in Jefferies who maybe the worst starter outside of Jason Collins in the NBA (another cheap alternative steal)

Ariza's last 7 games

14pts 5rbs 2stls
16pts 10rbs 2stls
18pts 5rbs 3stls
11pts 6rbs 2stls
13pts 6rbs 2stls
23pts 6rbs 2stls
14pts

This is a guy we could have signed for under 3 million and would have fit a need instead we moved him for a player that will never play again and is owed 30 million.....

Isiah needs to be fired today, his coaching is horrendous and his salary status playing time is disgraceful. We are better out there with Balkman, but now he can't play because of Jefferies? Any guy that has a lineup of Jefferies, Rose, Lee, Collins on the floor at the same time should lose his job....

I always liked Reezy.

Ummm, Isiah is the guy who drafted Ariza in the first place. Isiah only made that move last year because he wanted to make his coach happy, which is only natural... remember the whole 'delusional' episode. I really do believe that he wanted to hold onto Ariza though. If it werent for Isiah drafting him in the first place he would be in the NBDL right now waiting for someone to pick him up.

But this play from Ariza is encouraging. Has anyone seen how he is scoring these points? Hustle? Has he developed his jump shot? It would be really cool if he did.

I guess that explains why Isiah said he had no interest in reacquiring Ariza with the MLE during the offseason...after that head coach was fired.

Yea, because he doesnt want to look foolish. He doesnt have the balls to reacquire him. Doesnt mean he wanted to get rid of him in the first place.

Thing is, Balkman could probably be getting those kind of numbers too, if given the burn. But Isiah has too many higher priced acquisitions to justify.

Steve Francis for Penny's contract and Ariza. ugh.

I'm sure LB isn't completely innocent either.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

The "Isiah traded Reezy to make Brown happy, therefore it's Brown's fault." arguement is absolutely positively invalid. Isiah is the GM, he is in charge, and he needs to do what's good for his team, and that sometimes means denying your coach things that they want. For that matter, that's life and that's what you gotto do when you're the boss for any company. By making that trade, Isiah proved to be WEAK and to me, that was the straw that broke the back.

Lets compare it to this situation. A kid is allergic to chocolate and it's really really bad if he has any, yet he REAAAAAAAAAALLY wants a Hersheys Bar. Hence, he demands that his mother buys him one, or else he will put up a temper tantrum. What happens? The mother buys him the chocolate, and the kid enjoys it for about 5 minutes and then gets really sick not long after. Who is to blame? The boy who wanted to chocolate, or the mother being stupid enough to buy it for him, knowing perfectly well that he could and would get sick.

Same situation, different stories.

Blueseats, I agree 100%, but it was his idiot boss that gave him the one year ultimatum, so what would you do? we are just bad from the top Blue, BAD!!

Ariza might just be delusional enough after all to go play well in the league for years and years

I agree, though I think everyone in the organization knows that Dolan wants Isiah back and it's his job to lose. "Significant improvement" is so vague and can be reached through so many means. Beating 23 wins is no difficult task. Players not quitting on him might suffice, as could just not ripping the team thru the media.

Dolan has his objectives, we all know that, but all Isiah's had to better is "the worst GM of all time" and "the worst coaching performance of all time," and he's had an unlimited budget, and he holds all the cards in the process. Few in the league are ever set up better to succeed!

dolan goes on mike and the mad dog and defends sather like he's a genius and his patience paid off.

i would not be surprised if isiah is retained, even if we finish with 33 wins and miss the playoffs.

Yeah, but the Rangers aren't nearly as good as they were last season.

And why didn't he show that same patience with Layden? (Not that I think Layden should have stayed either.)
