I'd keep QRich and Balkman, though banking on Q being healthy is probably a bad idea.

We need consistent guards though.

And I'll be sad to see who gets Oden.

sounds about right. only 2 people on this team know how to play ball and that's david and malik. quentin is damaged goods. our backcourt is awful. one guy has no idea how to run an offense, the other guy is glorified streetballer. curry is an f'n pansy on the defensive end and i really don't like him as a player, but his sheer size makes you want to hold on to him for just a little bit longer.

i'd give frye another year, but curry, frye, lee, q and balkman are the only guys i care for.

and i agree with dj that q is damaged.

balkman is surely expendable.

so curry, frye and lee are my keepers... for now.

I agree with the topic title. I think Frye can land us up and coming wing player, which is something so desperately needs. A court-general/defensive PG is also desirable. Lee and Curry are the guys that should be kept and used to build around a top player.

to me it's all about david lee, everything else you scrap. i love the forward tandem of lee and ariza, oh wait a second, we traded ariza and an expiring contract to get an absolute joke named steve francis, who is 1/4 the player he used to be and on the brink of retirement.

this is an absolute disaster. i'd hold onto curry just because he is young and there is potential for him to learn to rebound or defend or throw a pass even, basically do something other than push guys around offense.

marbury has been putting in the effort, but i dont even think he's a positive veteran influence at this point. he's playing well and pushing it hard but the guy's simply not a winner. only thing he ever won was a psal championship. got blown out of the ncaa's early, put up HUGE stats with the nets but never even approached 500, had one marginally good playoff series (vs the spurs in 02 i think, amare's rookie yr when marbury hit numerous big shots and the suns took the spurs to 6 games -- spurs won it all that yr), and hasn't done **** with the knicks. he can't win but i guess b/c of his salary and committment you keep him?? who is gonna take this guy?

isiah should demand francis to retire, use some of his bush league tough guy tactics to force this guy out.

balkman is ok but i mean come on this guy is a 9th man we are missing KEY pieces here. where is the shooting guard? crawford is ridiculously inconsistent, far too unreliable to count on night in night out, richardson will be done w/i 2 yrs b/c of his bad back even tho he shoots lights out when he's ready, i mean we're talking a gimp and a starks on crack cocaine. this is horrendous.

mardy collins? gimme a break. name one good player from the john chaney school of awfulness, and don't tell me aaron mckie b/c he wasn't good enough for long enough to be termed a 'good player.' pepe sanchez? please.

frye has a nice jumper and has shown a propensity for blocking shots, plus he's from a good college program and wants to be in NY. i say keep him for at least another few years.

so we're talking about building around a young core of lee, curry, and frye, with the veteran leadership of malik rose (a 6'5" pf w/ a few championship rings b/c he rode tim duncan's fundamenal ass) and stephon marbury (who hasn't won **** since the city basketball tournament, and even then you were nervous with starbury on the line at the end of the game). balkman as your 7th man?

jared jeffires just does not fit. he's a joke. at the nba draft the year he got picked an indiana fan told me that jeffries wore a women's blazer b/c of his slim shoulders. this guy gets manhandled like ed norton in americna history x. get him outta here.

cato is washed up, jerome james aka big snacks for 5 yrs 30 mil. isiah could you pass some of the ganj you were smoking when you thought that one up! what is this all about, 4 mediocre games, passable for 'inspiring' inks this guy a 30 mil deal are you kidding me?

bulls got our draft picks, way to be isiah, couldn't out-negotiate paxson on the phone lines but you are weasely enough to incite a bench clearing brawl when getting pounded yet again at home.

and screw greg oden, anyway, i'd want kevin durant with that pick. an all-star small forward would turn this team around. durant, this guy budinger from arizona who jumps outta the building, julian wright from kansas, daquean cook from osu, all could fill that role, and isiah can draft, thats the one thing he's passable at. too bad that picks gone.

dolan doesn't know his ass from his elbow, either, so its not like this will go away anytime soon.

can't wait for isiah to trade lee, francis, and the bulls first rounder for vince carter at the trade deadline, francis promptly takes a medical retirement and insurance pays for his contract, and the knicks maybe make the playoffs as an 8 seed in an absolutely ABHORRENT eastern confrence and atlantic divsion especially, and isiah gets brought back next year. what then?

give me good basketball or give me death!

Lee is clearly a keeper. Too bad he's a keeper but not a starter (LOL).

Curry's a keeper because guys his size who can score 20 points a night without sweating are not easy to come by. Plus you just pray he will improve his all-around game.

Frye's a keeper in that, at the very least, we can use him as trade bait at some point to land a stud at shooting guard/small forward. But it would have to be a very smart trade (i.e., one made by someone other than Isiah). I'd still like to see Frye somehow be able to play with Lee and Curry.

So those three are not a bad start. But everything else, good riddance -- including the coach.

I'll trade anyone on this roster, including Lee to be honest. I love the guy, but if some GM overrates him somehow, and is willing to give up one of his gems for him, I am inclined to pull that trigger. That is depending on the gem of course. No Artests or Maggetes or Stephen Jacksons!

agree?

were it that easy.

I've said this that basically Isiah, in trading the picks with no insurance for curry, basically created a catch 22 situation. You would love to be able to dump pieces if possible, but you can't tank because doing so insures the bulls get a great pick.

This team has had good games and bad games- some good stretches, and some bad stretches.

I'd like a bit of consistency.

If I could trade Curry, I would. I never liked the trade, and in spite of his stretch of 20pt games, where has he been lately. If I could get back an ending deal and pick, or a package of him & bad deal (Curry) for decent talent coming back, I would do it.

Lee is looking like the best player picked from last year's draft. I won't be surprised to see him develop legit three point range.

Frye, Lee and balkman are the only keepers I see. I wouldn't trade Nate for garbage, but his role in the fight builds weight to the theory that he is basically a knucklehead.

Fyre is disgraceful, to bad we didn't move his ass last year, he can't move, rebound and is a huge *****, he never bangs and brings nothing to the table when his jumper isn't going down

Please tell me how Crawford is part of any decent start, he is averaging close to three to's a game, plays zero defense, shots 38% and is shooting under 30% from three, why does everyone love this kid.

This team looks like a bunch of fringe talent that needs to outwork oppposing teams every night, something they can't do.

Frye in a bust in my mind unless he starts to assert himself and show a little fire, it was disgusting watching artest guard him last night, frye was just running back and forth, use your body bang and call for the ball, if you pick up an offensive no big deal, send a message, foul someone hard that is coming into the paint....we have two players that have balls Lee and Balkman, Nate doesn't count, he is just nuts.

Q god love him, looks on the verge of joining Steve Francis, and without him there is no leading, and no outside game, so we are potential screwed.

We just have to be patient. I want the team to make a good trade, not a knee-jerk reactionary trade because of a few losses. In Frye we have a tradeable asset and Malik Rose will become tradeable at the end of the season. I think that we should be able to package Frye and/or Rose with another one of our bad contracts (Jeffries, Crawford, or Q) for a starting caliber SG or SF. We can then use the draft to fill in one of our other needs, such as a defensive-minded PF player. IT has provided us with a solid young base of players. The roster just needs a few tweaks to get the pieces to work. Really, if we have a better PG, I think the pieces that we have would work much better. You put Steve Nash on this same team and we win 50+ games.
Trust the Process

Because Jamal is trying to be the Best perimeter player on the team. YOu know why, because there is no star on this team. Did you notice what Rose did last night in the fourth when we needed shots??? He was CHUNKING!!!!! To use a phase. WHy??? Because he id stupid??? NO BBall IQ??? Selfish???? He flet the same thing Jamal Crawford pretty much feels every game, "IF I don't get it done, nobody will".
Seriuosly, did anybody else notice that??? Freaking Mailk Rose Felt like he had to take over the game in the fourth, WTF!!!!! This team would look some much with a star everybody could lean on. The way the team is now, you got players doing things they shouldn't be trying to do.

THe team needs a star. Trade two of those 9 players and get one.
