Really he isnt providing anything more than what Balkman is providing. Could we move him with the salary (i doubt it)

The team is log jammed, some players need to go. When Q returns it means Balkman will be the odd man out, its not fair to balkman who has played his butt off. Maybe he will get better and probably balk will get traded or something. its crazy, i hope we make moves by trade deadline.

You'd think after adding all these unmovable contracts Isiah would learn instead he adds yet another one this past summer!

when the guy plays fifteen games.. that is known as a small sample set. Give the guy some minutes before we ship him out.

Jeffries is not that bad...He looks bad against west coast teams because we need scoring at his position to compete...He will be good against teams when we need man on man defense for the final shot or in key spots...He isn't as bad as he looks now and he isn't as good as his first game as a Knick..Patients...He may not be worth the full MLE but I think you have to pay up a bit in NY when your team is this bad....

If Isiah is going to keep playing him the way he's been playing him then he will be of absolute no use for this team. Jeffries is what he is, a below average offensive player who gets his points off putbacks and dunks and a above average defender who can hold his own against good offensive players when he plays with other players who are trying to play defense. Jeffries should be playing 22 minutes game off the bench but instead Isiah feels the need to start him. You can start Jeffries, but he's got to be playing with Shaq and Kobe for that to happen. I don't see Shaq and Kobe on the Knicks.

jeffries' contract has a trade kicker so i highly doubt the knicks could trade him for anything outside of a player of equal non worth (like kenyon martin or something). we'll just have to hope that isiah learns how to utilize him.

Hate to say it, but with Marbury and Francis waived this would be the kind of team I'd expect Larry Brown to do well with.

See Isiah knew to add guys who Brown wanted, like Jeffries, Collins and Balkman, but he doesn't know how to utilize them and get the most out of them. Add in a couple of guys Brown wanted like Earl Watson and Reggie Evans and we could have been cooking.

That said, I know it was never going to work with Brown, Isiah and Dolan. I'm talking about inside of a purely theoretical space.

I like that trade. Artest would be a huge upgrade over Jeffries and we can start Lee at PF. That would give us one of the best frontcourts in the league. Lee is decent at guarding PFs and Artest can guard anybody. Curry will be Curry but I think Lee and Artest can help him on the defensive end. Only problem is the Kings would not do it. What do they need Frye for when they have Brad Miller (jumpshooting center), Kenny Thomas, and Rahim. We would have to at least get Jeffries to waive his trade-kicker and probably add a pick.
