who takes his place in NY.

I like Mark Jackson.... Well spoken, a good coach on the floor and arrogant enough to bring up his career milestones as an overachiever in HS, college and the NBA when dealing with players who will challenge his credibility.

Also Bill Cartwright... The Nets won't give him the job over Lawrence Frank, but the one man who threatened a slap Michael Jordan gets props from me.

He may not have the personality to sell it, but he knows the game.

What do you all think ?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

David Stern needs to step in and as much as I hate to say this it's the truth.

I actually think Mark Jackson should be a headcoach. I don't really want Jerry West as manager. He hasn't really done anything special as manager of the grizzlies. Even a young guy like Greg Anthony, Allan Houston, any intelligent guys like them would go well.

I really like the idea of Mark Jackson as a headcoach.

You're going to tell me that you'd rather have an ex player with limited experience as your GM over THE LOGO?

Come on now people...

What has the Logo done since after he was with the Lakers? It just doesn't make sense to me. He's probably overrated at this point and he's old. He's gonna demand so much money that if he gets hired from us and does a bad job, Dolan wont want to fire him b/c he will have such a large contract.

Sbensol, how did the last 2 guys WITH experience as executives do? That's right, I thought so.

How about Fratello? I really don't think a former player w/out any coaching experience, or GM experience for that matter, should be hired to run this mess.

We need experienced people who have the balls and clout to just stomp on the likes of Marbury and Francis. Somebody who will put them in their place, and dump them if necessary.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

That's true. However, what about Mark Jackson as COACH, not GM though? He too is a Brooklyn man who will kiss nobody's arse. Fratello seems like a decent idea though.

Fratello should've been the hire when we brought in Lenny. I wouldn't mind him though.

Isiah should not be fired. He is the perfect GM and coach for the Dolan led Knicks franchise.

Just give him time. After all, Layden signed Eisley, Anderson & Weatherspoon, and Larry spoke about players in the media last year.

Like him or not, (IMO) Zeke is the best coach for this team seeing as how he built it. Keeping Zeke here at least gives us some semblance of stability even though he probably isn't the answer.

But get rid of him, I assume Grunwald becomes our defacto GM, but who's going to be the guy that takes our squad to the next level - especially considering how badly this organization has treated its head coaches the last few years. Sure it's NEW F'N YORK, but I'm not too sure many are exactly salivating to come coach here if Zeke winds up getting kicked to the curb.

So many questions, so few answers.

Just because somebody is a Brooklyn man does not mean he has the clout to step to Marbury, who is himself from the city. NBA guys are not easy to handle, many of them come from rough backgrounds, so you can't just go in on attitude alone and expect them to listen.

You have to bring in somebody with a track record to busting balls and getting his way while succeeding.
