J CRaw goes 2-8, scores 6pts and turns the ball over 5 times, and not one mention of this in the game thread. Why this guy continues to get a pass from most is beyond me.

Craw had a great game against the Pistons and some here were ready to annoint him as the answer to our 2 guard woes. Please, we've seen this from him too many times. He has an allstar like performance one game, then he looks like a NBDL reserve the next 3-4.

We need consistant perimeter play ASAP. how many times have the Knicks swung the ball around the perimeter and it ends up in Jeffries hands, in the corner where he jacks up an unconfident looking shot? How many times does it end up i Balkmans hands after being swung around and he throws up a brick? Francis circling off screens passing up wide open shots only to pound it into the hardward and dive into the crowded paint only to throw up some arwkward looking shot or no-look pass to a teammate whose not looking either.

I give Marbury credit for trying to be aggressive, but he's missed a ton of layups on the break. If he doesn't get bailed out by officials when going to the hole, he usually struggles.

Our most consistant play has come from Curry and Lee. But we go as our perimeter goes. Both offensively and defensively.
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

Yes and no. He's not hated like Marbury and others but if you read other threads you'll see most declare we need a real SG, or a real PG, so those are indictments of Crawford.

IMO, Crawford is treated better than others for two reasons: A) he's capable of coming up big in late game situations and winning games for us, B) He's likable and was a good soldier under every coach he's had.

So people don't love him, they just don't hate him with venom.

Our perimeter shooting is such a non threat that teams are now doubling Curry even when he doesnt have the ball. Somebody on the perimeter is wide open (often JJ) and the other team flat out doesnt care
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

No...our interior players blow at D. Plus Eddy waits too long when he passes out of the double team for the guards to find enough time to make or create a quality shot. Also, Balkman and Jeffries on the perimeter are not exactly helping. Isiah has coached Curry- our only option. He has yet to come up with a second, third and fourth option when Curry gets double teamed or when he is ineffective or in foul trouble. Isiah is so concerned with Eddy Curry that the quality of play outside of the interior is in disarray. And the fact that our interior D SUCKS does not help the situation either.

queenie we dont even have to pass it to Eddy down low. The Clippers and other teams have started doubling EC when he doesnt even have the ball. That means somebody on the outside is wide open (jj). All we had to do was pass it directly too him. But in this game early curry sent wide open looks to Marbury, Lee, frye and JJ. All 4 passed up the wide open shot to swing it around the perimeter.

You are right. So what to do? Isiah has to consider putting Lee back in the starting line-up. I have a feeling that this Jeffries signing will go down as a bad one. He has no idea what he is doing out there- I can't stand when he brings the ball up or initiates the offense. I am 5'3 1/2" and I think I can make a shot easier than him.

I agree Queenie. I don't want Jeffries starting or trying to shoot much.

If we are going to have a guy in the game who can't shoot well, it should be Lee, not Jeffries. Even Lee, with his limited offensive abilities, has better touch than Jeffries around the basket and from outside. Add to that that Jeffries is among the best rebounders in the NBA, while Jeffries is overwhelmingly average outside of his shooting which is below average.

Strange though, in college Jeffries could bang a 15 footer with no problem. I didn't think he would be this putrid a scorer in the NBA.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

JJ2 was a pretty good offensive player in college. Don't know what happened with that. I still like his D though.
