He's bottom 10 of backup point gaurds. That 3pt shooting series at the end of the game was very coimcal.

Marbury is averaging 13 points and 5 assists in 35 minutes.

A top 10 point guard regardless of contract would have some trade value
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

You can change it to WAS a top 10.
But he is still one of the top 10 players of the Knicks team

Define top 10.
Top 10 pg in his house? Yes
Top 10 PG on the Knicks? Yes
Top 10 PG in NY? Maybe
Top 10 pg in the NBA? are you kidding me? :)

He probably is in the top-10 in scoring potential for a PG. He is definitely not in the top-10 in his ability to run an offense. In that aspect, he is average at best.

He dominates the ball for 35 mpg and has 5 apg to go with 39% shooting. Worse than that our offense has no flow. We have 2 guys on the team that shoot over 46% (Curry and Lee). Thats ridiculous. Well James does also but his 1.4 baskets per game really dont add up

dominating the ball by a point guard is not a bad thing if the point guard knows how to get everybody involved or get his teammates easy baskets and shots (ala nash). but if the guy can't do it, then it's death.

newyorknewyork, that's the problem. For a few games, he'll play like he's the best player in the league, and he'll be hitting big shots, as well as play great defense, then he'll have an even longer stretch of playing like the worst and most clueless player in the league. It's very frustrating.

Thats true but nash passes the ball upcourt more than he dribbles it. The ball moves faster in the air. Marbury just wants the ball in his hands. If ball hogs like Iverson and Kobe average more assists than Marbury thats a problem.

Are you talking about Marbury or Jamal or Curry?

That goes with my other thread. Its hard to judge because he instantly played like a top 10pg when he was playing with Curry, Lee, Frye, Crawford, Cato, Balkman. But now that Jefferies is back and playing big mins he went back to being very average.

So does his inconsistancy have to do with the lineup?? Or is he just being inconsistant?? Its hard to tell since Isiah changed up the rotation. If he stuck with what worked then we would know the real deal.

True, but how many games was Curry, Lee, Frye the starting frontcourt. And how many of those games did Marbury do well, and we win??
