All this talk about how the Knicks are turning their season around but they are still only 5-5 in their last 10 games, including 3 fortunate buzzer beaters.
And after that modest 3 game win streak they are on the verge of losing 3 of their last 4 games.
And they still have that habit of falling behind by 10+ points early in games.
Relying on comebacks and buzzer beaters is beyond fool's gold.
You want to say that there is improvement in some players individually? Well there has also been regression in some players. This happens to every team, in every season. Just more fool's gold.
You want to say that we're competing for first place in our division? This division is pathetic and being near the top of it would be more fool's gold.
You want to say that winning a few more games than last year, while still being a bad team, is improvement and evidence that we're heading toward being a contender. That's beyond fool's gold
You want to point to the youth. Take a good look at the youth and tell me who's going to be the type of player that a team can be built around. Most of this "youth" are just role players and fringe starters. Curry is the best of the bunch but he's so one dimensional and inconsistent. The Knicks aren't any better off than most teams when it comes to young talent. In fact they are behind most teams because they don't have a single top young player who you can build around. And that will only get worse when they watch all that top talent get drafted this summer while we wait to use the Bulls late pick.
So where are the real signs that Isiah is building a contender?

I really don't see why people get so excited when the knicks get a victory, this is the same bunch who ran for the bus last yr.

Two games?? Two games? Relax dudes, losing two games happens to teams. Sheesh.
Two games do happen. But two games with no effort, no pride, and the game would have been closer if we actually didn't show up. These are the same problems we had last season.

thats true, but all in all the knicks have been a losing team this season. our record is almost the same as it was last year,
Comparing the two records is deceiving dude. Last year we were inconsistent. With sliding streaks and winning streaks streak. This year we are a lot more consistent. I would rather have this seasons play than last season. Dude are you seriously telling me this looks to you like the same bunch of losers from last year? Comparing the two records is deceiving.

I just happen to disagree. This team is more inconsistent than last year because this year we are beating teams we probably shouldn't and losing to teams we should definately beat. This team to me is more frustrating because the players are in the ideal situation they wanted to succeed, but aren't.
Of course the joking answer is we were consistently horrible last year and this year is really up and down, so technically we were more consistent last year...
Either way....IMO, the only difference I see is that this team is actually trying in some of the games this season.

imo we are not more consistent this year than last. and its true that they dont look like QUITE the same losers as last year, but if the records are similar how much does that really matter? wasnt larry throwing games last season? didnt he do a bad job? if so why is the record this year similar to last year's? doesn't that mean that thomas is doing a bad job, or throwing games too? and if it doesnt mean that than what does it mean?
are you saying that that you would be satisfied with the job larry brown did last season if the knicks had shown more grit and resiliency on en route to those 23 wins?

I agree about this fool's gold business, and I agree that Larry Brown is to blame.
Exactly. Larry is calling each team we play and giving instructions how to beat as. If some couches are not listening - like Detroit or Utah recently thay are losing to us. Larry is the real problem. IT an our players are great but this evil Brown... If not he we will have 20-13 record not 13-20. What a bastard!!!

That's total BS.
If I'm around I post win or lose. I don't disappear. It's amazing the complete lies that people spew. Blatantly obvious lies at that.

Stop comparing this team to last years. That's completely meaningless. Jesus, you'd hope that they'd be better than one of the worst in their entire history.
Compare this team to the a contending team. How far as we from being one? Do you see the players we have being the nucleus of a contending team? I sure as hell don't. A bunch of one dimensional role players isn't a championship nucleus.
They don't even give consistent effort. That's just pathetic.
