Francis is out again. Marbury experiencing knee problems. Marbury is being run to the floor, just how Allan Houston was. If these problems continue to persist, it's gonna get real ugly if we don't start preparing to rebuild NOW because I bet a number of us can just sniff the God awful odor of microfracture knee surgery from not a mile away.

It just makes the last draft look even worse, but lets put that to past and just look foward. If we don't make a rebuilding plan, make it well thought of, we're screwed.

We need a pg for sure. We will find one
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Where? What pure PG has Isiah ever gotton, besides Damon Stoudemire, that the team can run with for extended minutes? Moochie Norris doesn't count and Collins is still unproven and will probably never be an NBA starter. I'm still thinking Charlie Ward for him.

I didn't read pure point guard in SugerRays post?????

THis team would do Great with a Player who can run an offense, but Isiah is tied to Marbury I guess. ONly thing you can hope is it doesn't go past this season. I think if this team can find a player who can run the point and 1-2-3 would be the best way to go.

We need to rebuild the backup because Curry is *our* franchise player right now. We need a PG that can shoot consistantly from the outside, and find a way to get Curry the ball when he breaks his man down. We need the same thing from the SG positon. As well as being able to make it hard for opponents to penitrate and attack Curry.

The problem is we are going to have to wait a few yrs before we are able to do that.

Our next pg should be a real leader. a coach on the floor. Our quarterback.. ala Jkidd or Nash. Doesnt have to be that kind of player but that kind of floor general/ball distributor would be nice

Everyone wants that, but whatever one thinks of isiah, they really have to wonder if he is the guy to get us that kind of PG. Look at his key PG acquisitions: Might Mouse, Marbury, Francis, Nate, Mardy.

Heck, an argument could be made he's traded away better PGs than he's acquired...

We need someone desparately to consistently knock down the outside shot so teams stop collapsing on Curry. They also need some variety in the offence i.e. Curry not getting to position to receive the ball swing it around and post or run pick and roll for Frye or anyone who can hit the broadside of a barn. I for one wants Crawford gone because he is way too inconsistent and chucks too many bad shots. Nate drives to the basket more than he does at 5'7. He is such a dumb player with those stupid off balanced shots, personally I think he is the dumbest Knick and I want him gone in the worst way. WE NEED A SHOOTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than not drafting Marcus Williams (which was a bone-headed misstep) on what tree are these natural pg's waiting to be plucked from?

Well they often come from good college programs, but the question I have is should one expect Isiah to find them if they don't believe he's looking for them?

Good question. I think its yes and no. More no than yes however.

Yes, he looked last yr which led to him drafting Collins who in all honesty is nothing more than a role playing backup who isn't good enough to unseat Marbury even while Marbury is playing some of his worse basketball in his career. I say No, because obviously, Isiah still feels (or felt comming into this season) that he can still win with Marbury running the point. This is where Isiah's veiw was shortsighted. Marcus Williams was a pick to made for the future and from what he's shown could help our team now. Dolans ultimatum also played a role I think in narrowing Isiahs scope on the future.
