the score is 101-81 with 3:21 to go in the game:

- balkman scores with 3:05 to go
- james jones takes a shot at 2:49 (16 seconds later)
- amare rebounds that miss and takes a shot at 2:41 (8 seconds later)

- jones gets a rebound at 2:19 (score is 104-84)
- marcus banks makes a shot at 2:10 (9 seconds later)

- raja bell gest a rebound at 1:45 (score is 106-84)
- jones takes a shot at 1:38 (7 seconds later)

- suns team rebound at 1:17 (score is 106-84)
- marcus banks takes a shot at 1:07 (10 seconds later)
- jones rebounds that miss at 1:06
- marcus banks makes a shot at 0:56 (10 seconds later)

------------

yet we didn't have any flagrant foul, no warning from isiah, nor was "running up the score" ever mentioned.

This one is easy.

A) That was Amare Stoudamire's last play before he was taken out. Nash was already out. The big stars were taken out of the game, you're talking about Bell, Bank, and Jones.
B) The Suns were not trying to do 360 Dunks and embarrass the Knicks with hot-dogging. They were just playing hard finishing out the game.

C'mon DJ, you're better than that.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

they were jacking up shots up 20 and early in the shot clock. that's called running up the score.

No, that's called playing Phoenix Suns basketball. That is the way they play every quarter. The difference is that the bench was in the game, even Pat Burke. If they were trying to set reverse jams and such, that would be running up the score.

after the jr smith dunk at 4:14, the score was 114-96:

- camby rebounds a ft miss at 3:39
- jr smith is fouled at 3:35

- david lee scores at 3:17 (score 115-98)
- denver gets the ball back at 3:12
- andre miller scores at 2:52 (20 seconds later)

- nate scores at 2:35 (score 117-100)
- melo misses a shot at 2:07 (22 seconds later)

- camby rebounds a nate miss at 1:57
- miller misses a shot at 1:34 (23 seconds later)
- camby rebounds that miss at 1:32 and gets fouled

- brawl happens

----------

so melo and camby were in the game BUT the nuggets were milking down the clock and no shot was taken with less than 4 seconds on the shot clock.

it's all about perception. the nuggets were not running up the score. jr smith dunked the ball with 4:14 to go to push the lead to 18. but after that, nothing but slow possessions for denver regardless of who was on the court. then isiah warns melo like a tough guy and mardy commits a hard foul. then nate completely disintegrates the whole situation like a douchebag.

JR Smith Flying reverse dunk. JR Smith getting ready to do the same when mugged by Collins.

Miller, Camby, Smith, Anthony all in the game. 4 out of 5 starters.

I'm not sure what you have posted that shows they were milking the clock, but that is not how I remember it.

amare was going in for a monster jam when he was fouled by balkman.

point is that isiah took the beating the knicks got from denver personal while the suns were just beautiful.

IT took it personal and it was personal. You're telling me Karl wasn't trying to rub it in? Honestly?

Considering Karl and Brown's relationship, with 4 out of 5 starters in the game, 20 points/2minutes left, including the NBA's leading scorer, reverse dunks and all?

There was nothing personal there DJ? It was just Isiah taking it personal?

I'm glad Balkman fouled him then. In any case, it is still Amare doing what he does, not addding in anything extra to rub our nose in it.

karl had his starters out on the floor. but how was that rubbing it in when they didn't take shots early in the clock. jr smith got a steal and was ready to drive in for a dunk. do you remember who jr smith is? this is a kid who's not in the highest of standings. he's from right across the river so he must have had a ton of family and friends there. so he wanted to go in for another dunk. if anything, it was on jr smith and not on karl.

when nate tried to bounce pass himself a dunk, did isiah encourage him to do that? on the road to try to show up cleveland or was that coming from nate?

isiah was pissed off he got waxed to karl and retaliated. and i think that's the root of it right there.

I don''t buy it.

Isiah didn't encourage it and Nate deserved to get knocked to the ground on that play. By the way, I've seen Nate get totaled on many a play to the basket where he tries to fly to high, or dunk on bigs, and I have never seen him get up ready to fight.

right above you say it's the suns being the suns and amare being amare. so why can't this be jr being jr (which is alot more likely)?

there was nothing that melo, camby, dre miller or najera did to tell me they were trying to "rub it in." and the play before jr smith got the steal, 3 scrubs were about to check in at the scorer's table for the nuggets.

Monster jams are nothing special for Stoudamire. Flying reverse jams are special for Smith. If Stoudamire tried to pull off a 360, I would agree that he was showboating.

I am not saying that Karl specifically instructed Smith to reverse dunk, but it's easy to see he wanted to let Isiah have a little extra for good measure.

Just a little too late I guess. I don't think I can argue with you over this unless we can agree on whether or not Karl was trying to rub it in. I think it is pretty obvious he was.

I got one question about the whole Denver Nuggets brawl sitiuation. Say instead of a brawl breaking out. Say Carmel Anthony went up for a rebound landed on one of our players feet and really hurt his ankle having him miss 30games. Would it have been worth it to Karl?

That can happen in practice too. Is practice worth it?

I have a ? for oohah A.K.A. "knicks shot their load", A.K.A. "game is over with 2min left in a 2 possession game".

Did the Nugz show a pattern of blowing big leads late in the 4rth in games prior to the Knick game?

You basically have to take that risk in practice for many reasons. You don't have to take that uneeded risk when your up about 18-20pts with 2mins left to go. First of, we would have to score about 20-22pts & the Nuggets would have to score 0pts. At what point in the game did that ever seem possible that we would stop the Nuggets from scoring.

Running up the score or not. He put his players in a positon that he shouldn't have put them in. Taking uneeded serious risk with minimal reward when he didn't have to.

Why don't game conditions constitute "practice" ?
