Shawn Marion shoots a 3, clanks it. The ball bounces to Boris Diaw for an offensive rebound. So what does Marion do (with no heisitation) AS SOON as he saw Diaw snatch the rebound?? He cuts to the basket to get a no look pass from Diaw and an easy dunk.

If that was the Knicks I gurantee that the person who shot the 3 would have stayed behind the 3pt line (other than Balkman or maybe Q) either watching the person who got the offensive rebound try and put the ball back up. Or waiting for the person who got the rebound to pass it back out to him so he could shoot another 3.

We need to get on that level. We aren't a great 3pt shooting team. So we got to attack attack attack. I like what we were doing with Curry in the begining with the postup then kicking out to cause ball movement. But we need players to cut more instead of standing aroudn while Curry has the ball. As soon as that triple teamer ran over to triple Curry we should have already and someone cutting to the basket. And Crawford definatly needs to keep attacking the basket and taking midrange jumpers rather than shooting 3s unless he is wide open. But he is not a spot up 3 shooter.

Isaiah agrees. This was his take after the game.

New York coach Isiah Thomas had a simple explanation for the Knicks' 108-86 loss in Phoenix on Friday night.

"They're just better than we are right now," he said. "They have a beautiful basketball team, the way they move, the way they pass, the way they cut. They're good. One day the goal is to try to get to that kind of level of play."

Other than Lee and maybe Balkman, we don't have many players who turly understand the game and know when to cut and how to find the open spaces on the floor.

I understand the focus of the offense shifted a little and focused on Curry (deservedly so) but what happened to the motion offense. The screening away from the ball, the backdoor cuts?
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

ONE THING AT A TIME :) I think sometimes we forget that this team still has to take baby steps. We can't expect that this team is gonna get a mass brain transplant and suddenly jump several BB IQ points. They are making progress, but this isn't just about this year, it's about the next 6 years and how we do over that time. Hopefully we'll be a playoff team for many years over the next several years. Maybe even make a finals appearance. But to get there is gonna take time and work.
