I think when this guy comes back he need limited minutes. (10) No more of that 3 guards to close out games.

i put him in Francis' role... Francis is still not in playing shape & his knee isn't helping matters... he needs to sit out a while longer until he gets his legs back under him.

I really don't want to see Francis back in there but you have to play to gt your legs back...

Francis will sit when NR comes back. He is lurching around on one leg out there. I know the feeling well. Trust me, he is in pain. He is a trooper I'll have to give him that.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I agree, I want Nate in Francis' current role. Spell the guys to save their legs for the fourth. Leave him in every now and then when he is on fire. Use him to light a fire under a guy that is not playing hard. But we cannot go back to the regular four guard rotation.
I just hope that people will like me

if his legs were healthy, i'd agree w/u... but in this case he has knee tendinitis... playing will only worsen it... i think he needs to rest for a longer stretch, keep in shape doing cardio work on the bike, etc. where he doesn't put as much stress on his knees, & then give it a go after the Allstar break... it would be nice to see him show other teams he can still play before the trading deadline, but under the circumstances i think him playing will only be counterproductive.

Francis is going to get his knee operated on. Hopefully he willmiss the entire season. Nate should get about 15 minutes a game backing up Marbury and Crawford. His point per minute scoring will kill teams!!!

The Knicks have done well with their big lineup, Nate has no role in this offense and plays limited D. Ship him out for a second.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I agree hopefully Francis misses the rest of the season and gets healthy. Nate is a much better fit for 10-15 minutes a game.....

If it is tendinitis, there is no operation to correct it that I know of. I have tendinitis. Tendinitis is inflammation caused by overuse.

What it means is that he will have to rest and strengthen his knee a lot the rest of this season. In the future he will probably be prone to flare-ups the rest of his career, therefore his minutes will have to regulated and we won't see the super-explosive Francis ever again.

PHILADELPHIA - Steve Francis returned from right knee tendinitis last night on an emergency basis, and he looked and felt like someone who came back too soon.

"This was the first time I ran in 19 days," said Francis, who had nine points and two assists in 16 minutes. "... I felt like I was out there for two hours."

The team has only two other guards available because of the suspensions of Nate Robinson and Mardy Collins.

Francis said before the game that the tendinitis won't completely clear up until he gets two or three months to rest it during the offseason. Although the second opinion he recently received did not reveal any loose cartilage or indicate that surgery is required, his return could be temporary.

"I've got to go back on the shelf," Francis said. "I've got to get healthy."

I don't know what he has, but surgery is an option and if he is going to sit for two or three months in a season with only 4 months left...... he is talking like he will get his knee cleaned and shut it down for the year.

Nate might return but it should be to the bench.

It looks to me like the portion you bolded states that they looked for a cartilage injury (Which I have too) which is at least treatable/correctable by surgery, while tendinitis is not (That I know of.), and they did not find it.

I don't know for sure that what Francis has is tendinitis, it could be a lot of things.
