Has everyone given up on this kid? I see a lot of discussion about how great Vujanic is - he has the advantage of getting a lot of playing time. Williams has played in - what, 4 games maybe? I'll admit he hasn't looked great, but I don't think he's had time to get into a rhythm either.

He is the man forgotten. I really don't know why the Knicks even picked him. From what I saw he needs to get PT it didn't help that he missed some play with his hand injury. He looks like he will go the way of Postell. Riding the bench waiting for playing time. I think he would be better off on another team. The Knicks don't know how to grow talent which has been a problem for the last decade now. There is no way he will be a star in this game unless he leave the team for a team that will give him PT same with Postell. I think Vujanic will be a very good player but my doubts aren't with him its with the KNicks organization inability bring talent along.

I guess we know he's not the kind of rookie to come in with no training camp and make an immediate impact - he had his chance when Ward went out.

I suspect it would be much better for Frank Williams to be on a team where he would get some playing time.

Eisley's surprisingly good play this season doesnt help either.I
remember scouts were saying that he was talented but often
plays out of control and has questionable leadership skills, apparently
he hasnt done anything to change that opinion.I read in summer league
before he got hurt that he would drive against the entire team then
throw the ball away but also showed some flashes of someone who
could help the team if he played smarter. You guys are right,he would
be better served on another team or even in the CBA for some
seasoning.

That injury definately hurt him and delayed his adjustment. Also Like Knicksfan already pointed out our points have played a lot better. I thought for sure that Williams would take the start or at least minutes away from Eisley or Ward, but he's clearly not an impact player. I'm real excited about Vujanic though. What I have been reading about him has been very good. I remember an article in the NYPost that was suggesting back then he might be the better of the two, and there was somewhere else(I wish I can remember where) there was an article suggesting he could be the best pg coming out of europe. I can't wait to see this kid.

here's some nice tidbits:
Simon (Baltimore): Hey Chad -- what do you think about Milos Vujanic coming to the Knicks? Is he good enough to change their style of offense so they can get out and run and spread the floor little bit? Similarly, is there ANY hope for Frank Williams?

Chad Ford: I saw Vujanic play while I was in Yugoslavia and he was fantastic. He reminds me of a more athletic Steve Nash. He's a great shooter, plays at a frantic pace, and is fearless taking it to the basket. If he comes over next season (still an if) and if Antonio McDyess is healthy, the Knicks will be right back in the mix.

---------
Milos Vujanic 6-3 PG Partizan Belgrade (Yugoslavia) 1980 -- The best PG on the Knicks right now. The only problem is he is playing in Europe! Last year we ranked Vujanic as the 12th best prospect out of Europe, and the top overall pure point guard. Since being drafted he has completely blown up. This guy is now the best player overall in Europe, not just the best prospect. He's a point guard with good size and strength. He can take contact, and is very creative with a nice shooting stroke. He's a wonderful freethrow shooter. He's not a pure PG, he has a scorers mentality, but he has developed a pg's mentality to boot. Has the quickness to go 1on1, and uses the change of speed well. (Was drafted in 2002 by the New York Knicks at the 36th pick.) He is a play-maker with great scoring mentality but also a player who can elevate his team finding scoring opportunities for other players. He has great court vision and when he decides to go 1on1 on the pick and roll, you can’t stop him because of his ball-handling and change of speed. He can finish in traffic because he has a strong body which handles the contact. He'll usually find the open man with a dish at the end of drives. He is still a play-maker who thinks shoot first, pass second, but his overall skills have really developed in the past year.

If they could, the Knicks would trade Charlie and his expiring contract,so they have to play him. And right now there is no reason not to play Eisley, so Williams is the odd man out. He'll get practice time and not much else for a long time.

Remember, even John Stockton didn't get too much more than 20 minutes a game until his 4th year. This is by no means a direct comparison, but you can see how PGs develop slowly. I think it would be good to keep Williams around for a least 3 years, and see what happens. You can never have too many low paid PGs.
