Thats not our record with him being the starting SF. Last year we were 6-7 in the 13 consecutive games he played as out starting SF.

I dont like the idea of having him as our starting SF, though is clear that it can work sometimes. I prefer Lee to be the starting PF and Frye coming off the bench.

The actual record isn't important. There are too many other factors that go into actually winning a game. I prefer to just look at his production and that of the team when he's in there. I don't have the actual numbers, but from my personal judgement, he fits fine with Frye and Curry. Sure we can start Q or Jared, but overall the idea is that Lee can play with any combination of frontcourt players and I believe the same is true for Frye. Frye's outside game makes him easy to fit into a group. The idea of starting isn't that important. We need to make sure Lee gets a lot of minutes period. Whether he's at the 3 or 4 isn't as important as just having him out there. Someone is gonna have to come off the bench for this team.

We know Curry, Frye, Lee, Jamal and Steph works.
Curry, Jared, Q, Jamal and Steph might work also.
Curry, Frye, Jared, Q and Steph might also work.

I wouldn't want to be Isiah and having to make that call. For now if It was me, i'd stick with what has been working so far in the last 3 games. Then work Jared and Q back in.

There is one problem with that. He can't defend at that position.

On the flip side, he can't be kept off the glass at that position either. Theoretically it seems flawed, and it could just be a coincidence, but we have had some of our best strings of games with Lee starting at SF. I hope Isiah sticks with it.

Hey, 6-7 doesn't sound too impressive on its own... until you compare it to 17-52. Then it sounds damn impressive.

I was gonna say- a 6-7 stretch on a 23 win team IS impressive. You're talking about taking completely incompetent to semi-competent which is a big step. One thing is for sure- we saw Curry benefit from playing with Lee and now we're seeing Curry AND Frye benefit from playing with Lee. He takes a ton of rebounding pressure of off them and right now both of their offensive games are flourishing. Being bigger than other teams up front has its advantages too- I don't know why we always focus on ho poorly we might match up defensively when we can physically hammer the opposition on our offensive end and reduce their effectiveness that way.
