The *fight* has forced us into a tight rotation with most of our core players.

What do I take out of it?

I would NOT change the starting line up. I think we go with cato Jefferies Richardson and Nate in the second unit for the time being and see what is out there at the trade deadline. Maybe we can get Andre Miller for Collins our 2007 pick+ Rose if philly is truly rebuilding.

I don't like that trade. We need a guard like Miller but it just adds to our backcourt clog.

No reason to trade a draft pick for Miller since Philly doesnt want his copntract anyway. I think Miller is a great passer
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Dead on about the rotation. However, I think we sit tight with this team and let them continue to develop. If possible, however, I would look to move Francis for an expiring deal but that's doubtful and I would look to move Nate for picks.

What do we do with Francis if he doesn't have surgery?

I dont want to change a thing. Right now our starting lineup is playing extremely well and that should not be messed with. When Q is healthy, Jeffries/Nate return they should be brought off the bench and we should run with it. Right now the Knicks are playing extremely well, the Curry/Frye/Lee frontline is really producing and that is something that should not be tampered with.

amen to that...I've been endorsing that since the suspensions. Gotta go with that 9 man rotation. but realistically will we? Nate, Francis, Jerome will be back soon. This will determine how much balls Isiah has. The decision to stick with the short rotation will determine whether he stays or he's fired. So if he goes back to the 11-12 man rotation then he is an idiot and will get fired. If he sticks with what is working great right now, interest in the Knicks is restored. Nevermind playoffs...we'll problably make it and not make it pass a round or two but if Curry, Frye & Lee play the way they have been playing and Marbury plays like the Marbury of old, forget about being a "True point guard" Marbury can do anything offensively, we need a guy who can do it consistently because right now guys like crawford, curry, frye dont. But if Marbury does we are set.

I would agree with keeping the rotation like it is- but I would look to get Q as possibly the starting 2 and then jj2 off the bench to back up all three front court positions.

Crawford off the bench- and if for whatever reason he starts to put up bricks like he has- I might go to Nate or Francis.

Cato/Jerome James could be situational/spot players.

It does not matter how many games we win, Q and Jeffries are playing and likely starting if Q's back heals, which I don't mind because Crawford's contributions have been inconsistent at best, and Jeffries can bring alot of what Balkman gives us and will play solid individual and help defense. The issue is going to be Nate and Francis. Those are the guys that can really affect the chemistry. Hopefully, (not that I wish bad stuff on people) Francis will need surgery and will be out 6-8 more weeks. If so, you can just give Nate spot minutes (5-8 minutes a game) and the rotation should not change drastically. Assuming Q's back is an ongoing problem, he will only get maybe 15 minutes a game, so really the rotations should not change that much as long as Francis stays out and Nate is given only spot minutes.

Trust the Process

I agree. Stick with what works, even if it might be unconventional. This group is playing well together.

Despite being the team's leading rebounder, Lee's status remains unclear with Jared Jeffries set to come back from his four-game suspension in the next game against Detroit on Wednesday.

Thomas wouldn't say whether Jeffries would rejoin the starting lineup, but did say that he liked the way the current starting five of Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Lee and Chaining Frye is playing together.

"We'll just have to see where we're at," the coach said. "The chemistry right now is good."

Lee, who is leading the team in rebounding (10.2 per game), has been playing small forward in the current format, and Thomas said he is happy with him there.

"If I ever get a healthy team, then we'll see," he said.

Is there any reason why Nate has to be in the regular rotation??? To me with everyone back a backcourt of marbs, Q and Jamal works best. I may bring Nate in for spot minutes to rest guys. But I'm talking 8-12 minutes a night. Nothing significant. I definitely would not be using him to take minutes away from the other 3 unless they are being punished or need a rest.
