I'm madd at marbury. THis guy needs to be our superstar player or at least the best player game in and out. How many number one players get 84 points from three starts and they don't lead their team to a blow out of the other team????? Marbury is hurting the team bady........... It's like he has a very warped veiw of what getting your teammates involved means. IT's doesn't mean don't look for you shot or don't be aggressive. It does mean pass the ba and get out of the way, because he hurts the team when he does this.

I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Marbury played good D and did a decent job of managing the game. The only thing he really screwed up was the final play to end the overtime. He should have made his move sooner and should not have given the ball to crawford with 2 secs on the clock.

All I want from Marbury is leadership on the floor. If the team needs a bucket, drive to the lane and get a bucket. Make sure that Curry and Frye get their shots in the right places. Create opportunities for Lee and Balkman. Grab Crawford by the neck when he goes on one of his ill-advised shooting sprees. Basically, be a leader on the court and take responsibility for the team. Marbury is too relucant to take responsibility for the team's performance.

Agreed. You'd have thought he'd be more receptive to that notion after the Utah game.

Lets give crawford the enternal pass the man can do no wrong, I'm sure Isiah called the play for a handoff.....

How about Jamal mr. clutch taking another terrible shot from 3 point range with the game on the line, thats 4 game winners he has missed lately~ you tend to make a few if you shoot evertime the game is close

This would be fine it the guy wasn't suppose to be the teams superstar. Crawford feels like he has to go on those ill-advised shooting sprees because of marbury. Marbury is suppose to get the other players on the team the ball in the right places and create opportunities............. it's called being a point guard. Dude is killing the knicks with this par-play that should be expected of bench players.

Maybe it's only me..........

They kept focusing the camera on his knee. He also lost effectiveness as the game wore on. I wonder if he is starting to develop knee problems...

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Marbury's starting to get it the last few games. 25 assists in the last 3. Thing he needs to do is drive, draw fouls and make his FT's when the possession breaks down. Seems like the ball is always a hot potato and we tend to lose or head in crunch time.

i thought Marbury played the way a PG should play last night... he didn't force the issue, he played good defense, he got his hot shooting teammate Channing the ball on pick & rolls cuz he was clicking w/that midrange jumper... the mistake he made was winding down the clock too long before passing it off to Jamal at the end of the 1st OT... i think he even made 2 big FT's late in the game last night, which is a rarity for him.

i've been as tough a critic of Marbury as anyone on this board, but i can't kill him for much last night... he even showed some love for his teammates after the game winning shot... when's the last time you saw the guy smile?

I guess giving hugs and smiling is good.

9 points in the fourth quarter scored by the knicks, your superstar is suppose to carry you.
First OT, 3 full minutes with a score, your superstar is suppose to carry you.
Second OT, Last mintue and a half spent tied and we won on a crazy tip in, your superstar is suppose to carry you.

We depend on second tier and third tier guys to carry the team in cruch time....... that's not good.

i agree w/all that Anji, but the fact is we don't have a superstar... only guys that are paid like superstars... Marbury isn't a superstar... superstars don't give up the ball at the end of games, they take the ball into their hands & take the shots themselves like you said... i understand your frustration about Marbury, cuz i have the same beefs w/him, but i think i've stopped looking for him to be a superstar & now just want to see him be more of a leader & help these younger guys become better players themselves... last night i think he did that to a degree, so i give him some props... i don't want to see him regress back to being a selfish me first player looking to get his at the expense of others.

agreed. Felton had a lot of assists but many of them were on bad defense on other guys not getting back. 3 of the Gerald Wallace allyoop dunks were right over Curry who didnt lift a hand.

I would like to see Q rather than Crawford in the SL

While he can be an asset in some games he is not worth the salary (20 mill) nor the drama. Simple as that.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

no brainer there, but he's not going anywhere. Rather post about him playing well in a win then sulking in a loss.

with the clock winding down, you take the shot if a play is blown by another teammate... you don't pass up the ball with 2 seconds left to a teammate 30 feet away from the basket so he has to force up an impossible off balance shot w/a man in his face... i love how you want to kill Crawford for that as if he chose to take that shot... what other choice did he have?

If Marbury doesn't steal the ball from Carrol, the tip play doesn't happen.

He might go somewhere. You never know. His personality wears on players and coaches. This is the first time Isiah has been this close to his effect and he might try to move him if ever given a chance.

no doubt... i already gave him props for his defense last night... still, the play at the end of the 1st OT was his bad imo.

IMO, that ship has sailed. And even if we try to, we gotta get some draft picks back in the trade and there's very few GMs in the league dumb enough to do that.

We're stuck with him for better or worse so let's just hope he continues to "get it".

(btw, were you drinking last night? )
