Camby the best center in the east? Camby the second best center in the league? May sound hard to believe, but just look at the numbers. Players considered above Camby right now are Dekembe Mutombo(33.7mpg, 11.7pts, 12.4rebs, 2.54blks, .495%), Alonzo Mourning(30.3mpg, 11.7pts, 5.3rebs, 1.67blks, .48%), and David Robinson(29.6mpg, 14.4pts, 8.6rebs, 2.46blks, .486%). While these players are considered better right now, Camby's numbers(33.8mpg, 12.0pts, 11.5rebs, 2.16blks, 52.4%)are very similar. Not to mention, Camby is much younger and can only improve while the others are older. I think Camby will have a breakout year this year and could even start on the all-star team. Thoughts?

Couldnt agree with you more on the Camby by the figures, people know he is a talented player. I think the only question mark with Camby is not his ability but the amount of times he gets injured. Hopofully though this year he will be injury free and when he does it will most certainly be his breakout year and finally recieve the respect he rightfully deserves.

I agree Camby is not far away from the trio mentioned (although the Admiral doesn't play in the East).

However I think that Alonzo Mourning is still the best center in the East. His numbers weren't that good last year but he was coming back from a terrible disease. He wasn't good in the Playoffs but then again the whole team didn't play up to their potential against the Hornets. Other centers to watch out for in the East: Theo Ratliff, Jermaine O'Neal and maybe even Olajuwon.

So what are your predictions on Camby this year? I'll say 15ppg, 12rpg, 2.5bpg, 1apg, 1spg, and 52 percent from field in about 36 minutes per.

Yeah i think people underrate new york and it will truely be a great year for the team. Somethings do need to be changed and improved, but other teams are in the same situation. Our team has heart and you can't teach that and that's why they will come out on top in the end. Camby didn't finish his year the way he would have liked and that will make him even more determined. Expect a big year from Marcus Camby.

The injuries MUST be atleast partially mental. He has never completed a single season ever. His numbers are good but he is still a pf in my opinion. Muttombo, Mourning and Deke are centers. Well we will see but until he can post anyone he will have a hard time scoring more than a 12 point average imo. Mourning could easily become a 20/10 guy again with Mason gone and Grant at pf. Deke showed ALOT of heart in the playoffs and I couldn't put Camby in front of him either. Ratliff and O'neal are both capable of beating 12/11 as well. So yes Camby COULD be the best center in the east but he also COULD be 5th or 6th in the east as well. Time will tell.
Trading Ewing was the single most idiotic move in the history of the Franchise.

I agree. I hear people going on about all these other teams. I hear "Toronto this...", "Orlando that...", "NY is gonna have trouble even making the playoffs" and all this bull. The truth is, the Knicks are going to be a much better team this season, with Rice gone, Spoon in, KT getting more minutes and Camby having more muscle. And Toronto are only going to be marginally better than before (same team, plus Hakeem, who is aging). And there is no guarantee that the Magic are going to be this expected wonderful team, because no one knows how Grant Hill will turn out. I see Milwaukee, Philly and Miami (with healthy Zo) as the eastern teams who are better than NY right now. But Orlando and TO are still behind, however good T-Mac and Vince may be. I am looking forward to a big season for the NYK, and an even bigger season for the Cambyman! PLUG: You can follow his progress on Marcus Camby Online!!!

I think people also underestimate the value of our secondary big guys, KT, Spoon, and Harrington. Also these guys play their butts off and you know they will help a lot. Thomas has improved a lot and i'm sure he's improved over the summer. Spoon was a 11-10 guy last year and started every game. Othella started in vancouver before coming to new york and he put up great numbers, around 12 and 6 a game. He's still very young and will keep improving as well. Also, if we don't get a back-up center he will probably have to play a little at center and i think he'll do a good job. We are pretty stacked up front with talent, just not in size. So the guys you're gonna have to watch this year are Camby, KT, Spoon, and Harrington cuz i think they'll all have great years.

Official ruling is Camby reported to training camp having put on 15 good pounds and is now up to 240. It's pretty impressive so if he can stay healthy, i'm sure we're looking at an all-star season for him.

Thanks for the compliments Knixkik. You are one of the many visitors who want me to update the pics. I have about 100 game/practice images now, and it's about time I update the main pics section. I promise, it will be done soon! When I re-access my normal computer, I will be sure to sort it out.

I also have a whole new design planned, which started with the new front page I created (with the sketch of Marcus shooting a jumpshot). Keep visiting the site, you will not be dissapointed!
