I also want to make a personal apology to Mardy Collins and his family. My actions were inexcusable, and I am sorry for making this an even more embarrassing situation.

notice how after the game the Knicks players spoke about what happened, but the Nuggets all pretty much had no comment.

I actually give the knicks credit for speaking up after the game, regardless of how dumb they may have sounded. It was like the team from Denver wasn't used to media attention.

Or Denver was smart enough to not comment to the media so they didn't sound stupid. But you say tomato(long a), I say tomato(short a).

could very well be that it was the smartest thing to do ... I don't disagree there ... but to me it was even more punkish of Carmello to have a "not gonna comment on that" after the game. I mean, you got nothing to say? Nothing at all? Nothing? YOu just made out like the biggest pu$$EEee the league has seen, and you got nothing to say? You're not only a punk, but a speechless moron who needs his PR team to tell him what to say.

ACCORDing to espn radio, carmelo Anthony testified to the NBA today and clearly said assiah told him and his mates not to go to the paint or else.

NBA will be conducting an ongoing investigation and you are correct ANRST, they are watching the video with Assiah and his lips

He is not as sorry as he is going to be after getting the 10+ game suspension the NBA is going to hand down. That is probably $1-$2 million that he is going to lose. Was that punch worth it? Not to mention to respect you lost for sucker punching a guy and then running away.

Melo's public apology was probably crafted and distributed by a Nuggets PR person and you may want to question it's sincerity, but isn't it interesting that not a single Knicks player or head coach has issued an apology of their own?

I'm pretty sure the Knicks have PR people who could have issued the same type of public apology. I guess you have to admit you were wrong before doing so and we all know Isiah and his Knicks are never wrong.

unless he apologizes to Mardy face to face & man to man, this is a pretty worthless statement just meant at trying to save his own public image as far as i'm concerned.

As far as I can tell the only thing a knick plaer did wrong was Nate by escalating the situation.

JJ tried to retaliate after his teamate was sucker punched, but he didn't actually do anything.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with a hard foul, nothing at all, no intention to injure, just a nice physical foul, this is a game of men is it not?

I didn't hear any complaining last year when AD gave Tony Parker a good hard foul for dancing in the paint. Oh, but that was LB, the god of basketball.

Mardy gave a vicious cheap shot.

Isiah instigated the whole thing.

But no, neither of them did anything worth apologizing for. I bet you don't think they deserve suspensions either.

Right on! In fact, what you heard was profuse praise about someone finally "sending a message".

I remember the "Bring Back Oakley" parade last year as well. Oakley dropped someone worse than Collins did about every 3 games. Let me not even get into Starks and Mason!

hmmm... a big man who plays in the paint giving a guard a hard foul to a penetrating guard vs. Mardy taking a cheap shot on a player from behind on a breakaway dunk.

Actually when you look at those two plays you right about one thing, you can clearly see the difference between LB and Isiah's style of play.

I don't actually remember the AD/Parker play, but wouldn't you guys feel better about all this if it came from consistent tough play when games count? This was a cheap shot in meaningless minutes of a blowout loss.

My god, many of us would love to have starters who protect the paint game after game, at home or away, who take pride in defense and who hate to lose.

But that's not what this incident was. This was a poor patsy scrub sent in by Isiah to fight his petty battle against Karl for him.

This was not an expression of pride by the knicks, it was an expression of shame.

fish, if Charlie Ward were the one giving that foul, I doubt anyone would have had a problem with it... why is it different for Mardy? because he hasn't yet earned his identity yet as a NY Knick?
