Interesting news was revealed:

Carmelo said assiah warned him if any of the nugget players comes to the paint that they were going to get it. That does not look good for Assiah!

League will be looking to investigate on the premediated actions of assiah.

Sheridan also said, if true, this might be the first time a coach is threathening a player from the opposing team.

Carmelo sucker punching Collins, Sheridan said he might be looking at a 10 game suspension but with an appeal, it might be 7.

HE said Stu Jackson will hit both sides with stiff penalities .
Nate and JR smith probably looking at 5 or more game suspensions. Also Jeffries.

I think Stern will suspend Isiah or fine the team heavily if the pre-meditation thing can be proven.

Jared was actually trying to breakup the fight and only went crazy after Melo sucker punched Collins. I really hope he only gets a light penalty, cuz he really was trying to separate guys. Jared, Frye and Lee were only trying to stop it.

There's no way they can prove that Isiah said anything like that, without audio. I doubt that they would've caught anything like that if he whispered it to someone. Coaches have been doing stuff like that since the beginning of the game. Karl should know this could happen if he left his starters in and had them showing off so late in the game.

100% correct. This is geoing to get ugly. Good point Sheridan brought up-Isiah has had problems with other coaches in the league(Popovic), which is starting to build him an ugly rap sheet. Whether Isiah threatend him or not, I have to admit, Carmelo saying that is an absolute stroke of genius on his part, IMO.

Also, how about the ultimate conspiracy theory of Larry's guys in the league trying to get Isiah black balled?

yeah, but it's like when Joe Smith had the under the table agreement with Minnesota - people all think its a wink-wink nudge-nudge thing, but if there's proof, Stern is coming to come down hard on the offender. if there's proof Isiah called in the foul (and the fact that Collins did it two nights in a row casts doubt Isiah's way), the fact that it led to a bigger incident is going to counted against him as well. I think Isiah could be suspended. I wonder if this will be enough for Dolan to finally grow a pair. It'd be funny if he decided Mills was on the hot seat next and Mills had to coach and be the GM.

Don't mess with the North Carolina posse. Don't forget, Jordan answers to them too and he's always hated Zeke. Brown probably hated Zeke coming in because of that. This whole thing has been a big conspiracy from the get go!

I would lose respect for a coach who didn't tell his players no easy layups...But it's funny that they waited until 1:15 left in the game to listen to him...They were doing alley oops all night..

hd audio picks up a LOT of sideline chatter. even if they just pick up Zeke telling Anthony that the next time they hit the paint they're in trouble from the sidelines, I think that might be enough to put Isiah in hot water. I don't know, we'll see. I'm sure Stern is going to want to get to the bottom of this.

Right now you have two coorroborating stories. One from Nate(We knew a fould was coming), another from Carmelo(Isiah told me not to go in the paint) or whoever said it. That is not good for Isiah.

this is nowhere near the same thing as "no easy layups" - the knicks allow easy layups all game long, because they suck. this is a lot closer to "go out and hurt that guy who is embarassing you (and more importantly me)"

this wasn't about defense, it was some warped bravado.

If they had that, we would have heard it by now.

mr earl, if you're confusing this with Riley's defensive principal, you're wrong. Riley's principle lasted the whole game, it wasn't some sad last ditch effort to pout about getting blown out. I can't believe anyone would dare to compare the two. that's just pathetic.

The 90s Knicks stuff wouldn't work in today's newer, much softer NBA.

Where flopping is confused for playing defense and superstars get calls for basically looking at them.

The rules are different now, partly because of Riley's rules.
