Lets ask an honest question here: Who thought the Nuggets were running up the score? Mind you, this is different than keeping your starters in. Thinking back to the game I didn't think the score was being run up.
Yes, they were running up the score
No, the starters were just in

I didn't watch the thing happen live so this will mean nothing but I voted "running up the score." IMO, the starters are in after a blowout to embarrass the other team by scoring more points.

For those who think that the Nuggets were running up the score, offer proof. And no, being up 19 points doesn't mean that they were running up the score, it means the Knicks stink.

Explain why the Nuggets were milking the shot clock in the possessions leading up to the fight.

What are they supposed to do? Not play offense? Isn't it enough that they milked the clock so they couldn't run up the score?

What are they supposed to do?
what 99% of the NBA does in a blowout. bench their starters.

Not making excuses, just telling you how it is.

Like Andrew said, keeping your starters in and running up the score are 2 completely different things.

I'll post what I told my brother. The Knicks cut a 26 point lead to 10 in a few minutes. Cutting a 10 point lead to nothing is an actual concern for coaches against the Knicks.

I dont know why their starters were in there but we had lee frye and jj out there as well. all guys that start for us as well. I didnt feel they were running up the score. That felt like a red herring
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I was at the game...I was telling a friend that I could believe their starters were still in...Karl at the time was off the bench still directing the offense with less than 2 minutes left...It was just b4 the brawl...I was saying that Karl if a good friend of Larry's and the Knicks beat them last time in Denver...So...He was definately trying to make a point..

I still can't believe Isiah is able to have a civil conversation with Melo after sucker punched one of his guys. I'd either hold it in or show my anger by trying to hit him.

Yeah...I posted something about this in the game thread when it happened. I really dislike Isiah.

I never trust Isiahs motives for anything so I have no idea what his conversation ws about. He seems to patronize other teams players in hope he can get them at some point. Maybe its GM strategy

I believe George Karl was running up the score, but he felt what he was doing right because of what happened between his good friend Larry Brown and Isiah Thomas.

Excellently put. To complain about their top guys being in is hypocritical when we had some of our top guys in also.

Curry or Marbury? Or are you bring in the 4th and the fifth ranked player on the team? Cause Q wasn't on the floor either.

if isiah shows anger towards melo, you'd bash him. he shows a cal. head, yoy bash him.

it is what it is.

he did say he said to him that they were up 20 with less than two minutes and that he and camby shouldn't have been in the game.

motives scmotives, he did what he was supposed to do...remain calm.

you'd rather he kling to a ayers leg?

I voted NOT trying to run up the score...what he did (or tried to do) was worst.

rub the knicks noses in it.

We had our lottery pick, Frye in there, who until recently has been touted as our franchise player, Lee, who some say is our best player, Jeffries, who many say is the glue to our team and our best defensive player. We didn't have our best player (Curry) out there, but otherwise, based on past claims, sounds like those three guys mentioned are among our top 5.

Bottom line is this: while it's customary to take your starters out when you're winning big, there's no rule that says you have to. That act alone doesn't prove anything one way or another.
