I am sure it is a matter of time JJ is at the 4 instead of Lee. I dont have a problem Frye starting but JJ isnt a four man. He cant score and his career numbers arent very good.

If I was Lee and they wanted to remove me from the starting line-up for anything less than a player like Carlos Boozer etc.. than I would call my agent and demand a trade.

who is the better ball handler?

the better dribbler?

who is the better defender?

I have a crush on David Lee as much as the next guy, but why not see how it works out?

WOW!!! I just read that--

To get more defense on the floor at the opening tip, Thomas plans to move Jared Jeffries into the starting lineup and bring David Lee off the bench. “It’ll give us a chance to put our two best players on the floor to start,” Thomas said, meaning Jeffries and Quentin Richardson. “Hopefully, we can shave some points off the first quarter because we constantly go down 10 or 15 points.”

Man I hope David Lee asks for a trade after this BS--the Knicks dont deserve him. This is the ultimate shaft! David Lee is playing like a borderline ALLSTAR and would start 4 for 25 other teams.

Briggs - David Lee would have been better served to ask for a trade after Larry Brown put him in moth balls

Lee will get plenty of minutes

So once Frye gets back you will have a third string 4 man averaging a double- double on one of the worst teams in the league. Talk about some depth

Who is tougher
Who is a better scorer
Who is a better passer
Who is a better rebounder
Who plays harder
Who has a higher basketball IQ
Who is more athletic
Who is averaging a double-double and top 5 in FG%
Maybe David Lee is too white for IT

I dare anyone to go back and watch the Celtic Knick game first half--only player who did anything was Lee. Even though Curry was like 12-3 he wasnt good. To demote Lee is rediculous.

This is so stupid. Why are we trying to see if something new works out when David Lee is already playing very well at PF and Eddy Curry is playing his best ball EVER with Lee at PF. Isiah is only out to prove that Channing Frye was worth a lottery pick and Jared Jeffries was worth the midlevel and nothing more. This is ridiculous.

Too "White"?

Or is Isiah too "Black"?

you decide whether its race or basketball you are watching

Briggs - had you even heard of David Lee the night Isiah drafted him?

Oh, my bad, Isiah sabotages his draft picks...

yeah, that's the ticket

It's crazy that people love David Lee but hate the guy who drafted him in the first round

They would love the Knicks to rebuild but hate it when young guys mess up

The love to chant dee-fense but hate a defensive player (Jeffries) getting minutes

They hate the instability of the franchise but run trade proposals up the flagpole at every waking opportunity

They love Nate when he plays balls-out and hate Nate when he tries to throw a pass to himself off the backboard

They love the fact they can call Eddy Curry fat and lazy (he WAS acquired by that Debbil Isiah after all) but hate the fact that he is proving them wrong by putting together an impressive and productive string of games

They hate to listen but love to argue

oh well

Oh Well

Why break what isnt broken? David Lee and Eddy Curry?
Why not play more zone D?
Our guards are ineffecient on both ends a HUGE cause for defensive breakdowns. If someone needs to be replaced--its the guards. David Lee is the epitome of a 4 and has a nice synergy with Eddy. It's not D Lee's fault that the guards breakdown on the putting him out of position to compensate and for that he is being punished.
We need some guards who can stop the ball and who can shoot better than 37%

I wouldn't jump the gun on this one. David Lee's minutes have not gotten cut yet. He's just going to the bench. Isiah may be saying that David has proven he is equally effective off the bench as he is starting so he's not worried about whether he starts or not but will get equal minutes. He also appears to be saying this move is to try and get the Knicks started on a good foot in the 1st quarter which has been a killer for us even with Lee in the starting line-up. I would just wait and see before I threw a fit over this one. Of course this would make even more sense if Isiah put QRich at the starting 2 and keep Lee at the PF spot. Then you have a PG, 2 wings that can play some D, a rebounder and a post up player. But not everything Isiah does makes a ton of sense. He is apparently still experimenting at this point. Something he would never allow one of his other coach's to do.

I agree with you to a point but your point about Nate is silly. I love what Nate brings to the team. He does some dumb stuff, doesn't pass, but overall what he is asked to bring, he brings. But whether I like him or not I have no problem criticizing him for trying to throw a ball off the backboard for a dunk in a close game. It's an idiotic action that cannot be excused no matter what else he has done for us. We cannot excuse that stuff. Excusing it will retard his growth. Criticizing the action will help him to learn.

Some on the site have to learn the difference between criticizing a current action and hating a player. I think some on the board go overboard with their criticisms but the majority of the posters are fair and at least try to be objective. This is the first time Curry has shown any signs of being in shape, so all the criticism he has received for that up until now was warranted. That's just an example.
