I'm not a big fan of Curry, but if he keeps up this All-Star play, he's easily a Top 5 Center.

And unlike some of those quasi-Centers like Okafor or Dwight, Curry is a pure low-post 7 footer.

And that's the type of big man you build around just like Shaq or Yao ---

Star Center
Rebounding/Hustle PF
Defensive/3-Ball SF
Star Wing
Triangle PG

Example ---

Shaq
Haslem
Posey
Wade
J-Dub

FRANCIS, FRYE, NATE

~for~

IVERSON, HUNTER, OLLIE

Follows the whole triangle offense to a T.

Curry
Lee
Q
AI
Crawford

You could even start Ollie or Collins and bring Craw off the bench.

Bottom line -- Isiah passed up on Vince, and then on Artest.

If he passes up on AI, it'll mean his job...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Would the Sixers have taken Jalen, Mo T, Frye and Nate?

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

and if he rejected a trade to the bobcats, warriors, and kings, why would he want to come to the knicks? were worse than the warriors and kings and on the same level as the bobcats.

let's say for argument's sake Isiah had held onto Jalen & Mo T this year... for the Knicks to get AI, they'd likely have to take on CWebb's contract in the process (oh you know Philly would never trade AI to NY unless that was the case, let's be real)... would you have been happy to trade away, say Crawford, Jalen, Mo T, Frye & Nate for AI & CWebb?

It's pretty simple really. Our front court is set as witnessed against Milwaukee the other night. Their backcourt was roasting us but we manhandled them down low.

Consequently we now know Marbury is pretty much done. Our guards stink for the most part. We can't match anyone in our conference in the back court. Every other team in the Atlantic can shoot at the guard position. Other than Nate who in our backcourt can consistently hit an outside jumper (Q is playing the 3)?

Bottom line, we don't have a go to guy in the 1,2 or 3 that's automatic. Washington does, NJ does, Boston does. Not us.

Go get AI. It's real simple. Channing and either Marbs (unlikely) or Francis plus a pick.

no way will the Sixers ever deal AI to the Knicks unless we absolutely bowl them over w/an offer... even if Francis was healthy right now, Francis, Frye & CHI's swap pick is not going to get it done.

there is no way they trade with the knicks, for one the garden would almost sell out every night for the rest of the year and iverson would get lee and curry more easy buckets than they know what to do with and q would get so many open shots its scary.......

We need to have a plan just as the bobs suggests. IT brought in a lot of talent without thinking about how they mesh together. The next step is to trade some of that talent to get the kind of players necessary to succeed in IT's system. As many of you suggest, I also believe that our guards have to be replaced.

AI makes 20M in his final season

The papers would be all over that the instant he sets foot in NYC, and remind us of his paycheck every moment he breathes

Not worth the negative press and bad vibes

We can't say no way on an AI trade. This situation is unusal in the same way that the VC trade was unusal. His trade value is not as high as it would be because everyone knows Phili has to part ways with him.

I see no reason why this can't happen.

If the Sixers really want him gone i think the best option is to move him for Marbury, Frye, and Nate thats not a terrible package, gives the sixers some young players, I know no one wants steph, but boston isn't offering anything, Bibby is going to opt out of his deal, the clippers are not giving livingston, and jr smith is like an iverson clone just not as good......

You keep young talent: Collins, Lee, Balkman, Curry and have a more balanced team, and can even look to move iverson for some young talent if you want.

The best option is to trade Francis, Frye, and Robinson for Iverson, Hunter, and Ollie then send Marbury to the only team that would probably take him, Minny, in exchange for Jaric, Hudson, and Griffin. Buy out Hudson and let Griffin expire. The reason i am hesitant to trade Crawford is because him and Curry are such good friends and play well together. I think keeping him helps the development of Curry and vice-versa. Here would be our lineup for this season.

C Curry, Hunter, James
PF Lee, Rose, Griffin
SF Jeffries, Balkman, Jaric
SG Richardson, Crawford
PG Iverson, Ollie, Collins

Iverson takes 24 shots a game. Curry and Lee wouldn't touch the ball.

I see no reason why this can't happen.

let's examine the reasons:

#1 - NY is a divisonal rival... do you think Philadelphia fans would appreciate watching their former franchise star coming into their building & torching them on a regular basis?

#2 - Philly would have zero interest in taking on the contracts of either Marbury or Francis (who's got knee tendinitis & can't even play right now)... neither one of them are playing well either at this point.

#3 - Dolan will not OK any more trades to take on big longterm salaries... why do you think the Knicks bought out Jalen Rose & Mo Taylor's contracts to begin with? It's not as if Allen Iverson being traded was some big secret either... the Sixers were looking into trade scenarios all summer, so the Knicks knew a trade possibility like this would happen this year, yet they chose to let go of the expirings & pretty much squash any hope of them being players in these discussions.

we're not getting him guys.

iverson has no place here unless steph AND marbury are gone.

any team that gets iverson will get a MAJOR boost. the guy can still play at a very high level and he will go balls to the wall to prove that he's still awesome.

if i'm the clips or dallas, i go for him BIG TIME. he could catapult you into the finals or possibly a title.

livingston + maggette for iverson
devin harris + stack + croshere for iverson
