start the game that way and let the othet team shoot you out of it if they can. i didnt understand the strategy tonight--we just killed the Cs using the zone, yet wwe never got into it until to late.

why not use it much more????

Why did Isiah not take his 20 sec timeout until .2 sec remained in a half where the Knicks were down 30?

Why did he call the Knicks last timeout in the 4th when he could have saved it to advance the ball after a rebound or opponents basket?

All good questions...Isiah has made some suspect in game coaching moves.

It's a mystery. They actually know how to play zone, and it's a good way to teach defensive responsibility. Even if they want to switch to man, or a box and one with JJ or Balkman on the one, it should be a real part of Knick basketball.

I don't think marbury is good at zone defense...he left pierce open (i think crawford tried to cover for him) and the othe late three was another late rotation.

marbs doesn't know how to play zone but also keep the other teams best shooter in check.

he'll get it...but doesn't yet.

for a first game back, I think jeffriea played well...not sure bout balkman, but the comeback was the usual suspects (as expected when the season started).

one thing about isiah is he doesn't seemed phase with losing early to get the team on the same page.

I chall this up to jeffries rusty and foul shots. when frye returns expect a loss, but a lesson learned.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Conspiracy Theory #1: Isiah wanted to lose so that Dolan would let him trade for AI.

I really don't understand it. Our two worst defeciencies are ball pressure and offensive effeciency from the guard spot. EVERYTIME we have played zone defense it has worked well. We CAN and should use it as a primary defense--forcing teams to "shoot us out of it". Why change what worked==I mean we killed Boston in Boston when we went to zone. The Knicks are two different teams--one that cannot play man defense and one that plays pretty darn good zone defense--so why do we choose the former? I know there are certain teams with personell who can exploit a zone, but for the majority, it should prove effetcive and @ 8-15 after being 30 points down[what is this high school basketball??????? 30 points down in the pros??] we need something that has worked well when executed.

That game reminded me of the Charlotte game years back when they destroyed us by 40 or something--in ways this was the worst 26-27 minutes or so I have ever witnessed by a Knick team. We couldve been down 50 to a bad team on our homecourt. Jefferies had quite an impact!
