This is a game you marked on your calender. I have never seen Yao Ming play a full game. I have only seen footage so I am very excited.

However, I am more concerned with Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley entering this game. I don't think Yao is going to murder Kurt Thomas, regardless if he's just 6'9". Earlier this season against Zydrunas Ilguaskas, Thomas held his own and even outplayed the bigger Center badley. I have yet to see Thomas murdered by a Center. He's a veteran defender and will defend the post tonight.

We should be dead scared of Stevie Franchise. If you thought that scrub named Mike James was slick with the ball and lightning quick, wait until you see Francis. Howard Eisley and Charlie Ward must bring their 'A' game defensively.

And it wouldn't hurt to see Latrell Sprewell wake up offensively.

I wouldnt underestimate the power of Yao Ming - I can easily see him destroying KT, its not like the Cavs were trying to win against the Knicks - the Rockets are in this one to head to the playoffs so it will be much more of a challenge. That and the fact that Yao seems to be a genuine all star in the making - Thomas is not even close.

thomas was " murdered" by shaq last year. he also had problems with david robinson. i agree that he can hold his own in some situations. but lets not forget that a "true" center acquisition should be a new years resolution in 2003.

who doesn't get murdered by shaq?? shaq did score a lot in both those games last year, but shaq can have a big against anyone if he feels like it. also, in the two games against shaq last year, KT held his own with 17, 10 boards, 3 ass, 3 steals and 3 blocks in the 1st game and 20 and 12 in the 2nd game. we'll see what KT does tonight...the key for him is staying out of foul trouble. if he picks up 2 in the 1st...he's in for a long night.

KT is underated. But 2 things

1. i personally do not think he is seeing the ball as much as he should-he is still up there in terms of shooting% although his rebounding may have fallen a tad.

2. While I like KT I also think is a key componenet towards moving to younger-more athletic players. It s impossible not to give up something of high quality to receive the same. The only player on the whole team with true value in terms of production -with a nice contract situation is KT. But the ONLY way i would trade him is if I get something I really wanted back. I see so many people just throwing him in for junk its unreal. We need to get something like a Kwame Brown or a high pick with the right player in the spot. IF Antonio Davis was worth a 5 pick 4 years ago--completely healthy-then kt is worth a 5-9 pick if the right player is there.

I would take Kwame Brown for KT straight up.

To me one of the best things about Yao's game is his movement
without the ball,he has great instincts for a rookie.Kurt will have his hands full.Thomas is going to have to be physical without getting
in foul trouble early, easier said than done.
