what other team can just take on his salary and also give up some youth and have no big contracts coming back--charlotte

charlotte gets some credibility and sells some tickets

I don't think Charlotte is going to make a move for him. Why mess with the boatload of young and gelling talent that they have there?

Because you have to start winning at some point. They have young talent, but they have no "go-to" player, and could use a star veteran.

Philly wants Devin Harris & Cuban isn't willing to give him up... he also doesn't want any "Who's the man" type issues w/AI joining them... they're already a championship calibre team w/great chemistry... they don't need to make this trade imo.

they didnt need to trade for guys like Walker, Jamison, Terry, etc either. Not saying it makes sense, but Iverson is one of the best finishers in the NBA.

I'm also not convinced he's a me first player. He does need a lot of shots yes, but he's certainly no primadonna

i think AI would make a great addition to any team, but not convinced the Mavs would give up what it would take to get him... i think AI makes more sense for a team like the Bulls or Celtics from a pure talent for talent standpoint, but they don't have the contracts to send back to make it work (even though they do have the necessary talent), besides being conference rivals of the Sixers.

i see AI going to a team like the Kings (in a Mike Bibby package) or Warriors (D Davis/J Rich package) personally... just a guess.

Honestly i think the only team it makes sense for AI to go to is Minny

I don't know what Minny has to offer. Yeah Randy Foye is someone I'm sure that Philly would be quite interested in but I doubt Philly is intersted in the Mark Blount, Ricky Davis, Troy Hudson's of the world.

"We're not interested in mortgaging the future,'' Bernie Bickerstaff said Monday, when asked if the team will make an offer for Iverson. "We're pleased with our young players and we don't want to part with any of them.

"We will not mortgage our future.''

Im not sayin they have what it takes... but if im an NBA GM... I dont think i trade for Iverson unless i run the Timberwolves.

It doesent make sense to add a player who needs to ball all the time to a team unless you have a dominant big man and need a scorer... Minny is the only team that fits the bill imo

ooooh... Bulls. Thats a good fit. Lots of defenders and rebounders and they cant score. Ben G, PJ and the Knicks pick for AI. Might need some more $$$ cap fodder but something like that. Phili gets a pick and Ben. Seems like its got a chance

No way. Why would they do that? They need to increase size, not get smaller.

I like Bulls- with Big Ben- they are potentially one player away from being in the Eastern Conference Finals & NBA Finals

the contracts is the problem though... they'd have to add another $6 million in salary on top of that package to make it work, & other than Mike Sweetney as cap filler, they'd also have to throw in either Ty Thomas, Hinrich, Nocioni or Duhon to even up the dollars... i don't know if Paxson would give up all that to get AI... a 3rd team would likely have to get involved to make it work.

I've heard that the attendance in Charlotte isn't too good. They can't afford Iverson.

Attendence is not good in charlotte, but other than a Gerald Wallace/Brevin Knight deal, which still does not equate I don't know what else they can send. Morrison? THey got honky shooting guard in Aston Kutcher. Fat May? Just does not make sense.

Orlando does a Jameer/Grant/Darko deal for AI?

Kings makes sense in a lot of ways. Lakers also. Trade Oh Dumb and Bynum for AI and watch kobe $hit.

i think AI to sacramento or dallas.

philly doesn't want to trade him in conference. no way they want to see the answer more than once a year at home.

personally, i love either. AI and QB's finest RON RON paired up would be pretty great, and AI with the german would be a lot of fun to watch as well, they would fill it up.

i think AI to dallas makes the most sense. screw devin harris, you put AI with dirk and i think that team wins a ring. give up harris, stack, balance out the contracts, AI breaking D's down and kicking it out to dirk would be pretty with a capital P
