We need a perimeter defender and a shot-blocker and then we might actually see the playoffs. Get a GM in here who can do just that. Its been 4yrs and Isiah hasnt done **** about it! Our biggest problem and the reason we give up 1000pts a night is because Marbury, Francis, Crawford, Nate are like turnstiles and we don't have a shot-blocker to make up for it. You can get buy with a SG who doesn't defend but you need your PG to keep speedy point guards out of the paint. I dont know if we'll ever win with Marbury because of this. I am happy with the way Marbury is playing offensively. He's not dominating the ball, he's getting it to Curry and he's penetrating when he can.

In regards to Curry, we begged for a low post threat on offense and now we have one eventhough he has to get better in other areas. There are only a handful of bigs who do it all anyway.

I am sick of Isiah blaming everything but himself and his team. For every 1 postive there are 2 negatives that follow. I just don't trust the guy! Judging from the picture of the empty seats and the uncanny sound of boos lastnight the clock is ticking on Isiah. Problem is I don't trust Mills/Dolan to hire the right guy unless it is Jerry West. I used to think anyone would do a better job than Layden but boy was I wrong...Isiah has dug us deeper!

I agree about a perimeter defender and a shotblocker, but I think the Knicks need a total revamp in the backcourt. A true PG(a courtgeneral, a distributor, someone can run the offense and knock down a occasional jumper and a true SG(a consistent scorer) are absolutely necessary to go along with the offensive/defense minded PF. Then and only then will this team be ready to compete on a nightly basis.

Jared Jefferies should be able to fill that perimeter defender role.

Isiah could probably find a shotblocker in the D-leagues if he really looked for one.

getting an orchestrator will be the tough one... someone like Brevin Knight should be out there for us to target... question is how much you'd be willing to give up to get someone like that.

i think we have to find out if curry is the real deal first.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I agree with nyk4ever. I think it comes down to this:

Backcourt needs:
-pass-first PG
-perimeter defender
-Zone-buster SG (Although Q does fill this role at times)

Small forward needs:
-Versatile scorer to come off the bench

Center/PF needs:
-Physical PF who can body up stronger PFs and play solid defense (A Reggie Evans type)
-Shotblocking C

Overall team needs:
-One franchise player
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Here's what I see. Isiah was figuratively in a 20 foot hole when he started here. Instead of choosing to climb 20 feet to get out, he decided his best way to get out was to try to dig his way to China.

Isiah said shotblocking is overrated.

Isiah had no problem with their perimeter defense against the Wiz.

Shotblocking is overrated.
As is dunking the basketball, jump-shooting, dribbling, defending, and passing.
