Two players defeated the Knicks.

What were the defensive matchups that led to the defeat of our beloved franchise last night?

dj - you and I both know that Marbury on Arenas is like playing with matches at a gas station. Our backcourt desperately needs a 6'6 defender. Mardy is just a baby but work with me here.

Lee on Jamison is kinda risky and you KNOW I have a crush on David Lee... but... this is exactly where jeffries is desperately missed.

Arenas must've smiled when Jamal was unsnapping his warm up pants.

Balkman is quick but not enough bulk to muscle Jamison who is aload in person. I just watched him up close in DC last week.

Dagnabbit, bring back Frankie Williams!

if marbury doesn't provide leadership or is good enough to run a team...
if francis likes to dribble out the clock and look for his shot...
if nate is concerned about coming up with new slam dunks...
and if jamal is shooting 38% and 29% respectively...

THEN LET MARDY PLAY.

i don't know if he's good. i don't know if he's bad. but the guy got size, he's in control and he's not a chucker. so let's give him a shot.

Listen they are damn good players, thats why they make a lot of money, when they are on and we are on chances are we are not going to win, according to the fearless **** face coaching the team....

And of course we were not at full strength which is what we have been hearing......

no one was playing defense last night.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

djsu - I'm withchoo.

Besides, the difficult decisions MUST be made by Isiah and his braintrust by the end of December.

No egos must be allowed to come before the team. none.

1. As tough as Quentin has been playing, is Jeffries good enough to be the prime minute-getter at the skill forward slot - or does he slide to off guard?

2. As much as I have a crush on David Lee - what is Channing Frye's responsibility next to the NEW and Slightly Improved Eddy Curry?

3. Marbury or Francis - I don't care which one, the other gotta get to steppin'

4. Nate - it was fun while it lasted son...

5. Can Renaldo Balkman be groomed to be a dreadlocked clone of Doug Christie?

I'm jus sayin'

when you look at this team, isiah's two best acquisitions have been balkman and lee. i think both can play a role on some serious big time teams (off the bench of course) and balkman has a chance to be a bowen/christie type of player.

curry can be a nice complimentary piece to have in the starting lineup. and quentin has started for a 60 win team.

but when you look up and down the rest of this roster, most of those guys are already defined as professionals and it's amounted to bubkus.

Bubkus Alert

>>most of those guys are already defined as professionals and it's amounted to bubkus.

dj- I'm feeling you doc.

Personally, I'm not wed to any of them, but you gotta start with something and gradually ... hopefully... transform whatever assets into better assets.

That process has already started and will continue no matter who is running the show. The question is what are the Knicks assets worth holding on to... and which have the most value in a potential deal?

Unfortunately, teams that might want to deal will immediately ask for David Lee, Channing Frye and your first born.

I don't give Lee or Frye away. For nuthin'!. The versatile Lee reminds me of a young Dave DeBusshere (without the long range jumper) and Frye isn't even out of diapers yet.

But that's just me

The Temporary Yoot Movement AKA Eight Is Enough

If I ruled the world

Frank Williams woud be another one of Isiah's mid-season pick ups from the scrap heap (see Jackie Butler and Qyntel..who?... Woods)

Mardy Collins gets some light

Jared Jeffries gets healthy

Frye stays healthy

David Lee gets plenty of minutes

Eddy Curry is allowed to make mistakes and continues to make gradual progress

Renaldo Balkman makes us forget Shandon Anderson

Quentin continues his post-Brandy rehab

That's my 8

Everyone else can sit down and shut up

For the most part Arenas had a hand in his face, sometimes two while knocking down threes...I wish I had a nickle for everytime I saw Jamison knocking down the three and DLee standing under the basket...

WBC stands for?

And yes, Curry makes it into it, but he played pretty poor defense last night also. Did we not give up 113 points against the Wizards? Is Curry the main reason for the loss last night? NO. Did he do much to help us out on the defensive end to counteract our poor guard play? No he did not.

I think the Wizards were 12-14 from the three point line at one point last night...I think thats where JJ1 would help...I'm not saying that anyone can shut down Arenas or Jamison sometimes..But I hand in the face does the trick sometimes...But last night I don't think even a hand in the face would have made a difference...It's just one of those games where the Wizards were in the zone..It just seems like everyone is in the zone against the Knicks...

To answer you question earl, I guess in hindsight I would bench DLee for not even trying to play D on Jamison...I mean the rest of the team at one time or another has ride the pine or is it plastic chairs these days, for not playing defense...I would put Balkman on him...
